00:19to fight for a better and 2nd edition of the Sudokwan National Championships

00:24tomorrow in Pasay City Sports Complex.

00:26Sudokwan is one of the newest combat sports in the Philippines.

00:29It was first established in 2022

00:32with the help of Philippine Taekwondo Pioneer and Asian Championship Silver Medalist Paul Kabatingan.

00:37Sudokwan Association Founding Chairman and SEA Games Gold Medalist Rene Catalan

00:42shared his main reason why he wants to have his own sports association in the country.

00:48I desire to have my own sports association because I want to help the athletes who are struggling.

00:58I will be able to help more people who are struggling just like me if I have support from the government.

01:04That's why Sudokwan was created.

01:08Despite this, Catalan is proud of the difference of Sudokwan compared to other combat sports in the country

01:13and it is also open for other combat sports athletes because it is not far from the so-called sport.

01:20Sudokwan is more safer than Taekwondo.

01:23Why? Because it has a headgear and it doesn't have a kick.

01:29It's like a kid's game.

01:32Almost all martial arts can be done in Sudokwan.

01:36It's adaptable.

01:38You can punch and kick.

01:41You can do boxing, boxer, wrestler, judo in Sudokwan.

01:49Tomorrow is the start of the so-called competition where some combat styles will be flagged as demonstration sports.
