00:00The International Board on Books for Young People, or IBI, launched the first IBI-PH Congress at the 2024 Manila International Book Fair,

00:22highlighting how reading can broaden perspectives and develop children's critical thinking.
00:27Dr. Luis Gatmaitan, an award-winning children's author, said reading empowers children by freeing their imagination.
00:35He explained that writing stories for children is not just about storytelling but about liberating their minds so that they can think beyond limits.
