00:00Hello. Widespread warm sunshine will break out across the UK during Saturday, but for
00:05the rest of Friday a cool and gusty wind is expected for much of the north, especially
00:11across eastern Scotland, north-east England and that wind nearer Galeforce in the far
00:15north of Scotland. Outbreaks of rain for the Northern Isles, northern and western Scotland
00:19and a few spots of rain for the higher part of north-west England. A lot of cloud for
00:25northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland, but further south, well, plenty of fine and
00:30bright weather and temperatures responding well. High teens, perhaps 23 Celsius there
00:36for the south-east. Not feeling so warm in the north, but the outbreaks of rain do ease
00:41later in the day and the cloud thins to allow some brighter spells into southern and eastern
00:46Scotland. Through the night then, lengthy clear spells for England, for Wales, for southern
00:52and eastern Scotland. Clear spells as well for Northern Ireland and under any clear skies,
00:56temperatures will fall away. A cool night to come, a few fog patches by dawn, temperatures
01:01fairly widely into the single figures and perhaps as low as 2 Celsius in some sheltered
01:07spots. For the north of Scotland, still some areas of cloud and outbreaks of mainly light
01:11rain, but even that tends to fade away through Saturday as high pressure brings widely fine
01:17and sunny weather with lighter winds as well. That will have an impact on temperatures across
01:23the country. So, for Saturday morning, well, a cool start to the day, but temperatures
01:28soon rise with sunny skies fairly widely. Still some outbreaks of rain in the far north-west
01:33of Scotland, but even this disappears into the afternoon. And then sunshine up and down
01:38from north of Scotland to the south of England and just some patchy cloud in the north and
01:43west, but otherwise it's looking like a fine afternoon. 16 to 19 Celsius widely, 24 the
01:49possible high in the south-east, that would make it the warmest day of the year so far.
01:54And that warmth, as it arrives, likely to spark a few heavy showers. By Saturday evening
02:00those showers making an appearance into the south-west, spreading quite widely across
02:05southern parts of England, south Wales as well. In some places it will just be a spell
02:09of rain, but for central southern England, for the south coast, there's the risk of some
02:14heavy downpours, thunderstorms and frequent lightning. Much of this activity will remain
02:21around the English Channel coast or just off the coast there in the far south. But further
02:26north we keep the clear spells on Saturday night and the showers in the south drift further
02:31north on Sunday. But away from the showers, Sunday is looking like another warm day.
