00:00Hello again. Showers for some this Thursday afternoon, but dry for most and with long
00:06spells of sunshine, especially across northern and western parts of the UK. Certainly a sunnier
00:12day to come in these areas, but a cloudier day to come for East Anglia in the south-east
00:16where there will be some showers around, perhaps even the odd heavy shower. And of course with
00:21the cloud cover and the showers, as well as a north-easterly breeze, it will feel cool
00:27around the east and south-east, but in the sunny spells further north and west, pleasant
00:32enough with temperatures reaching 14 or 15, perhaps even 16 somewhere like the Moray Coast
00:37and the north of Northern Ireland. Quite quickly, however, through the evening, the showers
00:44die away. The sky is clear widely across the country and that means it will be yet another
00:49frosty night. One or two fog patches forming, most particularly across parts of eastern
00:55and south-eastern England, perhaps the odd fog patch for eastern parts of Northern Ireland
00:59as well. The fog will keep temperatures at or just above zero, but I think where we've
01:04got the prolonged clear skies, temperatures dropping to zero to minus two Celsius and
01:10perhaps as low as minus six for sheltered parts of Northern England as well as Scotland.
01:15High pressure then firmly in charge on Friday. Now these weather fronts will get close to
01:20the far north-west of Scotland and they will bring some rain later in the day perhaps to
01:25the Outer Hebrides, but they're not going to make much further progress than that for
01:30now because that high pressure is blocking Atlantic weather from arriving and so it's
01:35a bright, if rather chilly start to Friday, the fog quickly disappearing, the temperatures
01:40rising as well and on Friday, well actually for the vast majority, it's a dry day. There
01:45will be some infill of cloud through the afternoon, so not entirely sunny in places by four o'clock
01:51and one or two showers are still possible, but they'll be very isolated. For the vast
01:57majority, it's just looking dry and bright. The best of sunshine I think is central and
02:01eastern Scotland, perhaps around the east coast as well, where it will continue to be
02:05cool but temperatures a little higher compared to Thursday afternoon. And again, we're looking
02:09at 14, 15, perhaps 16 Celsius in those favoured spots, northern parts of Northern Ireland,
02:14northern Scotland as well. But in the north-west of Scotland, here the breeze will pick up
02:18by the end of the afternoon and perhaps some rain into the Outer Hebrides. That breeze
02:24and the cloud cover and the rain just making further inroads into the far north-west of
02:29Scotland during Friday evening, but eventually petering out. That's enough though to prevent
02:34a frost in the north-west on Friday night, otherwise clear skies and widely another frosty
02:41start to the weekend. Away from the north-west, the weekend is looking largely dry and bright,
02:45but there will be some rain at times for Northern Ireland as well as western Scotland. That's
02:50all from me, bye bye.
