00:00Hello there. This pretty much sums it up for the next few days through to the end
00:04of the weekend. No pressure in charge, showery bursts of rain which could be
00:08heavy at times and the risk of thunderstorms. There are warnings in
00:11force throughout. So there's a rain warning for the northeast of Scotland
00:14until lunchtime on Friday, a thunderstorm warning for southern
00:17Highlands down towards the North Midlands as well as Northern Ireland
00:20covering much of Northern England as well as Southern Scotland and North
00:23Wales. Come Saturday that thunderstorm warning extends towards the mainland of
00:27Scotland up towards Caithness at Bruce Breeze further north. And then on Sunday
00:32that low-pressure system extends towards the northeast of Scotland. What that
00:36means a bit of a breeze across Western Scotland, always breezy further south
00:38across England and Wales though. Backtrack to Thursday. A thunderstorm
00:42warning is in place across Northern Ireland so some slow-moving heavy
00:45downpours here and we can see lots of heavy showers moving in across England
00:49and Wales. This is the occlusion associated with the low-pressure system
00:53bringing more persistent rain, lower cloud which eventually will grind to a
00:57halt across the north and the east of Scotland where there is a rain warning
01:02until lunchtime on Friday. The keen breeze here will deliver that cloud and
01:07rain relentless at times particularly over the higher ground so we could see
01:10some high rainfall totals and the risk of flooding. Overnight it's going to be a
01:14mild one but there are showers not fading away so showers from the word go
01:18through Friday morning. And for eastern parts of Scotland you're seeing that
01:22rain which will be heavy at times. Now towards the north that we see a bright
01:26start across the Northern Isles again with quite a brisk breeze. Further south
01:29the winds are lighter hence the reason why the showers will be slow moving and
01:33heavy and we can see here across England and Wales those showers moving across a
01:37bit quicker with more of a breeze particularly across southern parts of
01:40England and Wales. And here we will see sunshine and showers through Friday so
01:45some places could get away with a dry day and also some brighter weather. But
01:49the showers become quite prolific across southern Scotland, northern
01:52England, north Wales, northern parts of the Midlands as well as Northern Ireland
01:55slow moving. To the north of that you can see that rain extends towards the far
01:59north and then showers break out across central parts of the Highlands towards
02:03Aberdeenshire. A lot of showers across southern Scotland as well and with that
02:07the risk of thunder pretty much right the way through the day. So it's a
02:11showery day, it's a thundery day, it's unsettled but relatively warm.
02:15Temperatures typically coming in around 20 to 22 degrees Celsius. Watch out for
02:20the breeze though particularly across the far northeast as well as the south
02:22coast. Now that's Friday, Saturday thunderstorm warning in force across the
02:26northern half of the UK so watch out for some heavy and thundery downpours. But
02:32even further south we will see sunshine and showers with the risk of thunder and
02:36again temperatures coming in around 20, 21, 22 degrees Celsius. As I said though
02:41as we head into Sunday low pressure never too far away but we'd like to see
02:46those thunderstorms less intensive, more in the way of some a brighter weather
02:50but breezy particularly across the western half of the UK.
