00:00Hello there. Welcome to a weather update from the Met Office. It's this time of year where
00:05we see falling leaves, blocking drains, causing some localised flooding if you do see rain
00:10and there will be rain or showers across the country through the next few days. In fact,
00:15let's have a look at the bigger picture. These ice bars are representing winds showing a
00:19squeeze which means the winds will be strong at times. And then this feature comes in into
00:24the early hours of Thursday. So organised bands of showers, dry skies towards the south
00:29as well as the east. Even some sunshine here. Cooler start to Thursday across more southern
00:34areas. But then it really is the wind which will be the main feature as we head through
00:38Thursday afternoon. Again, across the north and the west we'll see the strongest winds.
00:43Now through Wednesday evening, some showers for Yorkshire, northwest England. They will
00:47tend to fade away. But further showers likely across Scotland, clipping Northern Ireland
00:51through the early hours of the morning as the showers become a bit more organised. Again,
00:56the winds are going to be strong. Gales across the north as well as the west of Scotland,
01:00particularly along the coast. But inland, down towards England and Wales, mid Wales
01:04towards the Midlands. Typical temperatures, Birmingham coming in at 6 degrees Celsius.
01:09So a chilly start to the day come Thursday here, but it should be bright with some sunshine.
01:14So through the morning, let's pick up on that cloud and that showery rain extending across
01:18Scotland, Northern Ireland down towards the far north of England. Another feature then
01:22runs in across Wales. Again, some showery bursts of rain associated with that. More
01:26clouds extends towards the north of England. Brighter skies anywhere from the Midlands
01:31southeastwards. You'll see some sunshine, but it will be breezy and then further showers
01:35likely through the latter part of the day across the north. Blustery showers here and
01:40more organised bands of wet weather for the southwest of Scotland, the far north of England
01:44and even Northern Ireland for a time. So some wet weather to end the evening on Thursday.
01:50Now on Friday, this band of rain sweeps down across the country. Strong winds for a time
01:55and some sharp rain about an hour's worth likely as it clears towards the southeast.
02:00And then a ridge extends on Saturday. So a chilly start to the day on Saturday, but some
02:04brighter skies, particularly towards the south. A few showers across the far north before
02:08rain returns to the wards, the northwest on Sunday. So here's your summary as we head
02:13into the weekend. Yes, remaining changeable.
