00:00A change of type coming our way in terms of weather that will move in through the weekend.
00:06Before that though, it pretty much is a case of what we've seen over the last few weeks
00:10where the cloud comes in and we see some sunshine, particularly towards the west.
00:15All courtesy of an area of high pressure which is sitting to the north of the UK, delivering
00:19an onshore breeze along the eastern side, bringing with it those lower temperatures
00:23because sea surface temperatures are still rather low and also some cloud.
00:27However, as we head through Thursday and into Friday, a squeeze on the ice bars towards
00:31the south will mean it will turn rather gusty and then the air turns warmer and more humid
00:37through Friday and into the weekend.
00:39So a few things happen.
00:41The nights will be less cold, certainly you'll feel the difference in the north, and it will
00:45warm up slightly along this east coast here, particularly towards East Anglia as well as
00:48the southeast.
00:49Through Wednesday evening, it's still rather breezy across central and southern areas of
00:54the country.
00:55The cloud is feeding further west, like it has done through the last week or so, so it
00:59could turn rather thick in places.
01:01But where we see some holes across the northern part of Britain, yes, you'll see temperatures
01:05overnight in the countryside dipping down to around 4 or 5 degrees Celsius, hanging
01:10on to 9 or 10 where we see that blanket of cloud, and milder conditions towards the west
01:15where we're seeing rather brisk winds into Thursday morning.
01:19In fact, the winds will be a feature of the weather through Thursday, rather gusty over
01:23the Pennines as well as the Moors.
01:25This cloud though through the morning will burn back to the coast, it will break up in
01:29situ as well.
01:30So a better day to come, we'll see more in the way of sunshine, and even along this east
01:34coast here, despite the fact you've got an onshore breeze, the cloud will break at times.
01:38The cloud will be rather stubborn across Aberdeenshire, but even further north, you could actually
01:42see some brighter weather, sparkling sunshine further west, and temperatures in shelter
01:47coming in around 23, 24, even 25 degrees Celsius.
01:51Now through Thursday evening, yet again, it's a repeat performance as this cloud drifts
01:56in on the onshore breeze, pushing down towards Wales, central southern England, the central
02:01belt of Scotland.
02:02Perhaps a little cloud coming and going across Northern Ireland to start the day on Friday
02:07as well.
02:08Still windy across eastern and southern counties of England and Wales, but even so, it's going
02:13to be a warm day.
02:15So through Friday, yet again, that cloud breaks up, it thins, and the sun will come out.
02:20But notice across the far southwest, here there is a chance of a shower through the
02:24afternoon, with the risk of thunder.
02:27That pretty much sets the scene for the weekend.
02:29Before that though, look at these temperatures, 14 or 15 along this east coast inland, 22
02:34to 24 degrees Celsius.
02:36So headlines through the weekend, some thundery showers will migrate northwards, it's going
02:40to feel humid, so not as cool by night, it's going to feel very warm by day, if not hot.
02:45These thundery showers do migrate their way northwards into Sunday across Scotland, and
02:50in fact, if you catch one, it could turn heavy.
02:52So here's your outlook through Saturday.
02:55Highest temperatures are likely to be in the south, 30 degrees Celsius, but we could see
02:59a 25 across southern parts of Scotland.
03:02All in all, yes, high UV levels, some high pollen, so take care if you're out and about
03:06for any length of time, enjoy the sunshine and watch out for those showers.
