00:00Bands of cloud and rain will cover more southern counties through Wednesday night and into Thursday with more heavy rain on its way through Friday.
00:08Further north, some brighter skies, chilly and a bit of a breeze bringing in some showers.
00:13Let's take a look at the bigger picture.
00:15First of all, here's that weather front through Wednesday and into Thursday.
00:19It's straddling the Midlands, mid Wales, down towards more southern areas.
00:23And it will creep down towards the southeast through Thursday as we see the rain tend to die out.
00:29At the same time, the winds will pick up Thursday evening across the north and then a rain warning kicks in from 9pm into Friday morning
00:37where we see a lot of heavy rain extending from Wales, the Midlands, central southern England, Suffolk, Essex down towards the west country.
00:45So we could see quite a lot of rain associated with this system, even some thunderstorms across the far south.
00:51Now, on Saturday, some showers around, particularly towards the west, some brighter skies, but also some wintry showers in the northeast.
00:58The air is turning colder.
01:00Through Wednesday evening, it's wet outside anywhere from the Midlands, mid Wales, southwards.
01:05Some heavy bursts coming and going along this rain band.
01:08Further north, clearer skies.
01:10Still a relentless wind though across the far northeast of Scotland where we'll see some showers.
01:14A few showers moving in across western parts of Scotland.
01:17Elsewhere, it's a dry night. It's a clear one with the risk of a frost, particularly in rural spots.
01:22Further south, it remains mild, but also that rain just coming and going anywhere from Fenlands down towards the south Midlands.
01:30Also, Severn Valley and further south.
01:33Temperatures then in the north, as you can see, single figures.
01:36We could even see temperatures dipping close to freezing if not below in the glens of Scotland as well as more rural spots of Northern Ireland.
01:43First thing then on Thursday morning, a crisp, dry and bright start for many.
01:48Down towards the south, more clouds and some outbreaks of rain which will tend to fade away, but we catch some more thicker clouds.
01:54We could see some patchy drizzle through the morning into the afternoon.
01:57Now, through the day, the sunshine will continue.
01:59Showers across the far north of Scotland, but slowly this wind will pick up across the western isles as well as western parts of the mainland.
02:07Fine conditions across eastern Scotland.
02:09Northern England doing very well with some sunshine and Northern Ireland also seeing some dry weather with some sunny spells.
02:14We hang on to more cloud, though, particularly across Wales and Midlands, east Anglia, southwards.
02:19A notice towards the southwest.
02:21This is the next batch of rain which will move in on Thursday evening.
02:24Before that, though, temperatures 17 or 18 towards the south, but 12 or 13 across the bulk of Scotland, Northern Ireland and Northern England.
02:33Northern Wales also seeing values around 13 or 14 degrees Celsius.
02:37Now, let's watch as the rain on Thursday evening spreads in from the west country, extends towards central southern England and moves up across Wales.
02:45Some patchy rain ahead of it.
02:46The rain warning from 9pm on Thursday evening.
02:50At the same time, this band of rain will bring some really strong winds.
02:53The risks of gales, if not severe gales for a time.
02:55It's a narrow band, though, as it extends towards central parts of Scotland.
02:59Highlands of Scotland pushing down towards the central belt through the early hours of the morning.
03:03This rain slowly pushes up.
03:05You could see some patchy rain and drizzle across Yorkshire as well as Northumberland.
03:08But further south, we're seeing some heavy bursts to start the day on Friday.
03:12The air remains warm towards the south.
03:14The risk of thunderstorms through the day towards the south.
03:17The air is unstable.
03:19It's also going to be rather windy across more southern counties, particularly along the coastline, as this rain retreats from northern counties of England.
03:27Now, showers will continue across the north and the west of Scotland.
03:30Again, we'll see those showers move inland.
03:32The winds will be strong.
03:33Some brighter weather, a few showers for Northern Ireland.
03:36One or two getting down towards the far north of England, so Cumbria could see one or two.
03:40At the same time, we could see some brighter weather to end the day across northwest Wales, even up towards Liverpool Bay.
03:45But that rain just comes and goes through the day across the south as well as the east.
03:50Now, on Saturday, it's a day of sunshine and showers.
03:53Showers more particularly towards the west.
03:55You'll see dry skies across eastern counties and the chance of some wintry showers across the northeast of Scotland.
04:01Temperatures struggling wherever you are.
04:03It's going to feel much colder in the south relative to the last few weeks.
04:06And then on Sunday, yes, it's a day where we'll see some beautiful sunshine coming through.
04:11A few showers likely, particularly across western Scotland.
04:14Temperatures struggling after a cold morning.
04:17So, again, it's a day to layer up, get out and about, enjoy some autumnal sunshine.
04:21But it is going to be chilly.
04:22I'll see you later.
