00:00Hello, thanks for joining me for this national weather update.
00:03Chopping and changing the weather at the moment,
00:06as is fairly typical at this time of year.
00:08Lots of clouds smothering the UK during Wednesday.
00:11The swirl of cloud is an area of low pressure,
00:14but plenty of zones of cloud and areas of rain
00:17have been working their way in from the Atlantic.
00:19So it's a messy old picture.
00:21But as this weather front clears,
00:22Northern Ireland looking a bit brighter
00:24through Wednesday afternoon.
00:25A bit of brightness over Northeast England,
00:27parts of Southeast England, perhaps too.
00:29But outbreaks of rain covering a good part of Scotland,
00:32Northwest England, Wales, and at times the Southwest.
00:35Fairly breezy conditions as well,
00:37but those breezes coming up from the Southwest
00:40are bringing pretty mild air.
00:41Temperatures, even where it's raining,
00:43reaching double figures or into the teens.
00:45And with a bit of brightness, we could easily get to 15,
00:4816, perhaps even 17 Celsius in one or two places.
00:52But it is a fairly wet evening for most.
00:55The rain moving into Northeast England,
00:56across Eastern Scotland, then another zone of rain
00:59down to the Southwest.
01:00Again, some heavy bursts mixed in with that,
01:02pushing over the Midlands and into parts of Eastern England
01:05by dawn.
01:06Turning a little clearer for Scotland and Northern Ireland
01:08through the night.
01:10Temperatures here could drop down into single figures.
01:12But certainly for most of England and Wales,
01:14in urban areas will stay in double figures.
01:17So a pretty mild start to Thursday.
01:19Some early rain on the east coast of England,
01:21but that should scoot away fairly sharply.
01:24And overall, tomorrow is a much brighter day.
01:27Yes, there will still be some showers,
01:29but most places will see some decent spells of sunshine
01:33as the day wears on.
01:34The showers are likely to be hit and miss,
01:37but we could see some bands of showers
01:38developing over parts of Devon and Cornwall
01:41and extending up towards the Southeast.
01:42So if you're caught under this line of showers,
01:45may turn out to be quite a wet day.
01:47The showers elsewhere tending to move through
01:48on a fairly brisk wind.
01:50And as I said, a bit brighter.
01:52Most places seeing a bit more in the way of blue sky
01:54compared to Wednesday.
01:56There'll still be a bit of a breeze,
01:57but temperatures pretty high for the time of year,
01:5916, 17 degrees Celsius in the sunny spells.
02:03Obviously, it'll turn cooler when the showers come along.
02:07And there could be some heavy showers late in the day,
02:09especially over parts of Eastern England,
02:11tending to move out into the North Sea during the evening
02:14and then eyes down to the Southwest
02:17as another zone of wet weather moves in.
02:19Now this one is going to bring some heavy rain,
02:21but also some gusty winds.
02:23You can see that swirl there.
02:25It's an area of low pressure,
02:26looking quite nasty actually on the pressure charts.
02:28The strongest winds on its Southern flank
02:30look like barrelling into Northern France,
02:32but it could bring some very gusty conditions
02:34if it's a bit further North
02:36into parts of Southern England and South Wales,
02:38Thursday night and into Friday.
02:40It's certainly going to be bringing some outbreaks of rain,
02:43looking like quite a wet morning Friday morning
02:45across much of England and Wales.
02:47Perhaps a little drier and brighter for Scotland
02:49and parts of Northern England,
02:51but certainly across the South,
02:53not a very pleasant Friday morning,
02:55gusty, gusty winds and outbreaks of rain.
02:58And temperatures, although still reasonably high into Friday,
03:01will obviously feel a lot cooler than Thursday
03:04with the wind and the rain.
03:05Starting to see an easterly wind as well,
03:07which could bring a bit more mist and low cloud
03:10to some North Sea coasts during Friday and into the weekend.
03:13Plenty going on there.
03:14Keep up to date.
