00:00Thanks for joining me for your evening weather update from the Met Office.
00:04It's still pretty chilly out there for many but not as cold as Wednesday night.
00:09It won't be as frosty. We've got high pressure just about hanging on but a
00:13change is afoot as low pressure is edging in and these weather fronts are
00:17moving in as well. A squeezing together against the high generating a pretty
00:21brisk southerly wind. That will bring milder air but those winds are also
00:26going to get quite gusty through the night especially over northeast
00:29Scotland and those weather fronts are bringing rain particularly to northwest
00:32Scotland. A very soggy night on sky but also northern parts of the mainland
00:36will see some rain for a time. That rain spreading over the northern isles. For
00:39many though it will be a dry night. Some thick patches of fog around during
00:43Thursday evening especially over eastern England but as the breeze picks up here
00:47through the night they should tend to clear. With a bit more cloud around a bit
00:52more breeze around as I mentioned it's not as frosty but we'll still get pretty
00:57close to zero across parts of eastern England at least for a time so quite a
01:01chilly start here on Friday. Whereas further west well some places will start
01:06Friday in double digits but it won't feel as mild because it will be quite
01:10gusty. Western Scotland having a blustery day. Parts of the northeast of Scotland
01:14also seeing some lively gusts during Friday and generally quite breezy in and
01:19around Wales, Northern Ireland, western parts of England where there'll also be
01:22quite a lot of cloud and that cloud thickening thick enough for some rain to
01:26trickle into Northern Ireland and turning wet once more in western
01:30Scotland. So a pretty grim ends to the working week here. Blustery and that rain
01:35moving in. We'll eventually see some showery rain come the end of Friday
01:38across West Wales, parts of Devon and Cornwall but a good chunk of England and
01:42Wales will be dry and fine on Friday. Some hazy sunshine coming through. There
01:47is still that breeze which will continue to strengthen and actually still the cold
01:52air in place over eastern areas. So temperatures struggling here still below
01:55average but further west that milder air is pushing in so double digits some
01:59places may even climb into the teens. As we go through the evening we'll see that
02:03rain pushing more into parts of Scotland. We'll see a little bit across Northern
02:08England maybe even into the Midlands and that's how we go into the weekend with
02:12the winds coming up from the south or the southwest generally smothering the
02:16UK in a lot of cloud and bringing some outbreaks of rain here and there but I
02:20suspect many places will have a dry day on Saturday with the winds coming up
02:24from the south southwest. We'll see some breaks in the cloud to the lee of the
02:29hill so parts of northeast Wales, northeast England will see some brighter
02:33skies on Saturday but overall quite cloudy. Many places though dry some
02:37showery rain at times chiefly in Scotland. But look at the numbers by Saturday we're
02:42up to the teens almost across the board. 1415 is possible particularly if we do
02:47see some brighter spells coming through. So yes it is turning much milder as we
02:51go through the weekend. Got plans for Sunday then you'll want to see our full
02:55weekend forecast that's available on YouTube. You can catch Honor doing our
