00:00Welcome along to your latest weather update from the Met Office. A mixture of
00:04sunshine and showers again on Friday but I think there'll be fewer showers and a
00:09bit more in the way of sunshine. Low pressure is still dominating however. Big
00:13one sitting right over us but this little feature just heading its way
00:17south across the Republic of Ireland and the ice above squeezing together. That's
00:21going to really pick the winds up through the night across parts of
00:24southwest Wales particularly southwest England especially across Cornwall and
00:29the Isles of Scilly getting very blustery here through the early hours. With low
00:33pressure sitting over us there's still plenty of showers around during the
00:37evening time. Still some heavy ones to come into Wales and southwest England as
00:41well. They may ease for a time but then that next little low comes in and that
00:45will pep the showers up once more through the early hours. So actually quite a wet
00:48night in the southwestern corner. Otherwise well a few showers in northern
00:53Scotland a few may graze North Sea coast but many places will have a drying item
00:58where we've got clear skies and light winds through central Scotland.
01:01Temperatures likely to dip a couple of degrees below freezing through the
01:05sheltered glens. Most towns and cities staying just about above freezing five
01:09or six below across much of the south. But it will be quite a wet start to
01:14Friday morning across parts of south Wales southwest England. Some heavy
01:17showers here moving along on a fairly brisk wind but a lot of spray and
01:22surface water for parts of the M5 and the M4. Those heavy showers do tend to
01:27fade by mid-morning of almost pretty much disappeared just affecting the far
01:31southeast. There will be showers still coming in across northern Scotland and
01:35down the western side and we'll see a mix of sun and showers across Northern
01:38Ireland through the day. Some of those will feed then in across the Irish Sea
01:42into parts of north and west Wales and maybe the Liverpool Bay area too. The odd
01:47shower is possible in eastern England mostly in the morning but they should
01:51fade. A good part of the country will have a fine day on Friday dry and bright
01:55with sunny spells. The breeze will be coming down from the north however so
02:00it's bringing cool air. Temperatures are going to struggle stay in single digits
02:04despite some lengthy spells of sunshine for most 10 maybe 11 or 12 across the
02:09far south through the afternoon. Temperatures pretty quickly on Friday
02:13evening will dip down if you're heading out. There'll still be quite a few
02:16showers to come into parts of Wales northwest England the West Midlands and
02:21still some going through the night across northern Scotland. But for many
02:24again it'll be mostly dry and with the clear skies and lighter winds it will be
02:29a pretty cold start to the weekend. Temperatures widely well down into
02:34single figures starting at three or four and rural spots are likely to be at or
02:39below freezing certainly over northern England Scotland. But even further south
02:43there could well be some pockets of frost to start Saturday. For many though
02:47it's looking like a good day dry and bright with sunny spells. There will be
02:50some fog around early on may take a while to clear it is getting to that
02:54time of year. There'll still be a few scattered showers across northern
02:57Scotland possibly one or two in eastern England. But for the vast majority
03:01Saturday is looking like a good-looking day dry and bright some lengthy spells
03:06of sunshine. The sunshine turning hazy as high cloud spills into the southwest
03:10with more rain coming in here perhaps in the evening and overnight. With the cloud
03:14increasing here temperatures will be a little bit higher perhaps come the
03:17afternoon as milder air tries to push in. But for most it'll be a pretty chilly
03:21day temperatures starting not far of freezing getting up to nine or ten
03:25Celsius. But there will be some sunshine and the winds will be light for most as
03:29well so that shouldn't feel too bad at all. During Saturday evening that cloud
03:33and rain will start to push in and spread across the country slowly but
03:37surely during Sunday. For more details on that catch our full weekend forecast on
