15 November - National weather forecast presented by Alex Deakin.
Transcript
00:00Hello.
00:01Largely gloomy Monday across much of the UK.
00:04There's some fog around, first thing.
00:06Still fairly misty and murky in a few spots.
00:08Not a lot of rain, but there has been some.
00:11There's a line of clouds.
00:13And this is a weather front that's
00:14been sinking slowly southwards.
00:17As it has been doing, it's kind of getting stretched out.
00:20So the rain is fizzling out.
00:21But still, if you're stuck under this zone of cloudy weather,
00:24it will be pretty dull and damp for this afternoon
00:27over parts of northwest England, north and west Wales.
00:30Otherwise, though, most places dry a slither of brightness
00:33from Lincolnshire down towards Dorset
00:36and certainly some sunny spells for Scotland and Northern
00:38Ireland, although the winds are picking up
00:40in the far northwest.
00:42Temperature-wise, well, still pretty mild at 4 November,
00:44getting into the teens, where we see some brightness
00:47across the south and almost everywhere,
00:49getting to double digits.
00:51Through this evening, that zone of cloudy and damp weather
00:54will slip south, but the rain continues to fizzle out.
00:56So just a band of cloud moving across the Midlands
00:59into south Wales and southwest England.
01:01Ahead of it, some clearer skies maybe for a time
01:03could allow some mist and fog patches to form.
01:06And it will get quite windy across the northwest,
01:08particularly through the early hours.
01:10That will keep the temperatures up here.
01:12Actually, probably the highest temperatures
01:13first thing in the morning over the northern and the western
01:15isles elsewhere.
01:16We're well down into single figures,
01:18particularly where we keep clearest skies.
01:21For many, though, it's a chilly but cloudy start to Tuesday.
01:25There'll be some brightness over parts of eastern England.
01:28Most of England and Wales will have a dry day tomorrow.
01:31But for Scotland and Northern Ireland,
01:33another weather system moving in will bring rain
01:35to western Scotland.
01:36And for a time through the middle of the day,
01:38a band of rain crosses Northern Ireland.
01:41Always pretty windy across the north as well.
01:43But further south, the wind's still pretty light.
01:46Again, some misty, murky conditions.
01:48If we see a bit of brightness, temperatures again
01:50could climb up towards the teens across southern England.
01:53So still pretty mild.
01:55Further north, 10 or 11 Celsius with a fairly gusty wind.
01:58And we'll see more showers coming into western Scotland
02:01on Tuesday evening.
02:02They could have a bit of snow over the tops of the hills,
02:05but rain to low levels for sure.
02:07And further south, it does stay largely dry.
02:10The rest of this week, looking largely dry across the south.
02:12There will be rain at times across the north.
02:14And the winds will pick up this week.
02:16Not a huge amount of rain around.
