00:00Hello there. Welcome to your Wednesday evening weather update from the Met
00:04Office. Hot again today across England and Wales. We do see a change coming in
00:10from the west, all courtesy of a maturing but deep area of low pressure, bringing
00:15with it unseasonably strong winds across the north through Thursday and into
00:19Friday, even with some coastal gales and also some showery bursts of rain. Further
00:24showers likely on Friday but some quieter conditions further south across
00:29England and Wales with some sunshine and temperatures won't be as high
00:33wherever you are. However through Wednesday evening and overnight it's a
00:37pleasant evening but it is rather muggy still, so another uncomfortable night for
00:42some across England and Wales. This trailing front here will bring some
00:45showery rain to Scotland and notice the cloud increasing across southern
00:49Scotland, northwest England, Wales and the West Country. Also you could see some
00:53showery bursts of rain. At the same time low clouds shrouding the east coast will
00:58tend to disappear as more cloud arrives across Northern Ireland and Western
01:02Scotland later. Temperatures here 12 or 13 degrees Celsius. So first thing then
01:07on Thursday morning, bright for many. This front here is mostly cloud by around 8
01:12to 9 o'clock in the morning, perhaps the odd spot or two of rain. Either side
01:16you'll see some sunshine. At the same time cloud will move in across Northern
01:20Ireland without breaks of rain and rain will arrive across Western Scotland and
01:24push ever eastwards, turning showery across the far north of England. A few
01:28showers running in, particularly across the Isle of Man as well as the far north
01:31of Wales. Here temperatures 16 to 20 degrees Celsius but we do hang on to
01:36some high heat east Midlands eastwards, so 24-25 degrees Celsius and notice the
01:42winds will pick up particularly through the evening time on Thursday. So this is
01:46the centre of the low, strong winds gales along the coast associated with some
01:51outbreaks of rain which could turn intense, especially across the western
01:55side of Scotland. Showery across Northern Ireland, Northern England and North Wales
02:00into Friday morning and stronger winds continue as we head through the day
02:05across Scotland. Elsewhere it's a fine day. The cloud will build, we'll see some
02:09sunshine coming through. Temperatures a good few degrees lower wherever you are.
02:12You'll notice the difference particularly across the south coming in
02:15around 19 to 22 Celsius, 16 or 17 further north. So that's the outlook through the
02:20next few days. For more details of the 10-day trend check out our YouTube
02:24channel and I'll see you later.
