00:00Often, it just takes one crucial piece of evidence or testimony to help investigators
00:05get a clearer picture of how a criminal enterprise actually operates.
00:10This is what the Department of Justice or the DOJ hopes the recently surfaced witness
00:15could provide and finally clearly link dismissed Bamban Mayor Alice Guo to the shady practice
00:21of illegal pogos.
00:23Luisa Erispe has the full details.
00:27Now that a witness has come forward to speak about the operations of illegal pogos in the
00:32country, the Department of Justice believes this will serve as an additional strong evidence
00:38against Alice Guo or Guo Wa Ping.
00:40According to Justice Undersecretary Nicholas T., when the witness mentioned that Guo is
00:45connected to the big boss of pogo, alias Boss Boga, this undeniably ties her up to illegal
00:51pogo operations.
00:52The witness also mentioned that Guo is also known as Madam Wa amongst employees of Loggy
01:18South 99, Pogo in Borac, Pampanga.
01:21According to the DOJ, this is not new information to them, having heard word about this, alias,
01:27since their investigation in Bamban, Tarlac began.
01:30The DOJ said the witness may be held under the Witness Protection Program.
01:55Meanwhile, aside from operations against illegal pogos, the DOJ is also tracking down
02:00Filipinas who are victims of human trafficking schemes who've been forced into surrogacy
02:06in other countries.
02:08Last Friday, the DOJ tracked down two Filipinas who were almost victimized by the said scheme
02:14but somehow got intercepted at the airport.
02:17For those 20 who've been victimized in Cambodia, seven of them will be returning home while
02:22the 13 others are being monitored.
02:24They will be given assistance by the government.
02:55The DOJ, together with the Department of Foreign Affairs, aims to remove all criminal liabilities
03:01of the victims in Cambodia as it pursues talks with the Cambodian government.
03:06Luisa Erispe, from The National TV, for a new and better Philippines.
