00:00All right, in case you missed it last night, we had some Major League Baseball, not much
00:07of a game, had some NFL, probably not much of a game either, but let's go through it
00:11here.
00:12First of all, the Cincinnati Bengals, late last night on Sunday Night Football, dismantled
00:15the New York Giants.
00:17Best defensive performance for the Bengals all season long.
00:20There's no question about that.
00:21They've been the worst defense in the NFL, but they finally stepped up and did a good
00:25job.
00:26They didn't really need to do much.
00:27They mustered seven points in the game last night with the Bengals picking up the win,
00:32so Cincinnati kind of stays in the hunt.
00:33Giants, of course, taking a step back.
00:36Let's hear from Zach Taylor, the head coach, who, like I just said, is giving his defense
00:40a lot of credit.
00:41You know, our defense kept us in it.
00:42Our offense was a little sloppy at times tonight, but there in the fourth quarter when we needed
00:47it, everyone just stepped up and everyone did their job.
00:50Everybody finished.
00:51I thought special teams put us in some really good positions with some of those punts.
00:55And then defensively, obviously, getting the ball back and offense finished with the touchdown,
00:58so no better way to do it.
01:01Start building on that, and hopefully we can string some wins together.
01:03I think you can name a lot of people on that defense that really stepped up.
01:09You know, three turnovers on downs, the turnover, and just a lot of big plays.
01:14And they got some, and that's kind of how their offense operates.
01:17They got a good, efficient operation.
01:19I think their quarterback does a really good job, but our defense stepped up the right
01:22times and held into, what, seven points, I think it was, yeah.
01:27Meanwhile, the Giants situation just continues to get worse.
01:31Of course, they were playing without Malik Nabors, who may play this week, but of course
01:35has missed the last 10 or so days due to a concussion.
01:38So up against it was, of course, Brian Dable with his team last night.
01:41But after the game, not a lot to smile about when you only put up a seven against the Bengals.
01:46All right, tough, tough loss.
01:50I thought our defense played very good football, you know, missed the quarterback run early
01:56on a rush lane.
01:57But they played winning football to hold those receivers to what we held them to the past
02:03game.
02:04You know, I think Breaux had about 50 yards rushing.
02:07But hats off to the way the defense played.
02:09Missed two opportunities in a kicking game, and then didn't score enough points offensively.
02:13And that starts with me.
02:15And you know, it's hard to win games when you score seven points.
02:19And that's the reality of it.
02:20That's probably a number of things.
02:21Dan, I'll go back and watch the tape.
02:23You know, I thought we had some opportunities, you know, throughout the game, you know, whether
02:28it be run, whether it be pass, you know, we turn the ball over down there, you know, on
02:32that drive, which was a good drive and to come away with no points.
02:35And then I think five of 15, somewhere around there.
02:38Now we were aggressive on four down, as I thought we needed to be against this offense,
02:43but just couldn't generate any explosive plays we did.
02:47We had the penalty.
02:48And then other than that, we didn't hit many explosive plays.
02:52Giants offense, just ugly in a word.
02:54And it has been like that for the majority of the season, although it didn't play well
02:57against Seattle a couple of weeks ago.
02:59All right.
03:00Last night's game open and shut case, really, when it comes to the National League Championship
03:04Series game one, they'll play game two today.
03:05Bats are going to have to score some runs eventually.
03:08But again, are the Dodgers ever going to give up a run?
03:10They've now had 33 straight scoreless innings.
03:14And folks, that's not a typo.
03:15It was 9-0 last night if you didn't catch the game yesterday.
03:18So the Dodgers take a 1-0 lead in the best of seven series, kind of feeling like the
03:23Mets may need to win one game here in LA to stay in this thing, because the Dodgers right
03:26now are playing their best baseball of the season at the right time.
03:29All right.
03:30Let's go back to the NFL here just for a minute.
03:32Jacksonville was just one of the worst performances you could possibly see individually from a
03:37lot of different players on Jacksonville, dropping the ball, fumbling ball, all Sunday
03:41morning long in London.
03:43And now they've lost Travis Etienne, Jr.
03:45They're starting running back, although it looked like he was getting outplayed by their
03:48backup Tank Bigsby.
03:50Right now, it looks like Etienne is out for at least one week, maybe two.
03:55They're staying week to week.
03:56The Jaguars are headed nowhere, staying in London for this week's game against the Patriots.
04:02And also earlier this morning, a report from ESPN coming out that Hasan Redik, the holding
04:07out player for the New York Jets, although he's never played a game for them, has switched
04:11agents.
04:12His agent is now Drew Rosenhaus, and he'd like to get a deal done either with the Jets
04:18or somewhere else.
04:19Yesterday, in the NFL, the Dallas Cowboys are the gift that keeps on giving in terms
04:22of blowouts.
04:24When they lose, it's pretty ugly.
04:26And it was again yesterday, Lions laughing their way through a 47-9 victory over the
04:31Dallas Cowboys.
04:32They were three-point favorites in that one.
04:35The Cowboys haven't won a game at home this season.
04:37In case you missed it yesterday, Aiden Hutchinson had a very serious leg injury that is going
04:43to cost him the season.
04:44He already had surgery last night, and of course, he's one of the best defensive players
04:47in the NFL.
04:48Best defensive player on the Lions, for sure.
04:51Great game between the Ravens and Commanders yesterday, coming all the way down to the
04:54wire.
04:55Ravens win 30-23.
04:57Lamar Jackson threw for 323 yards.
05:01Jane Daniels had a nice game as well.
05:03Needless to say, Ravens, since starting off 0-2, they have won four straight games.
05:07And also, the Eagles needed to go all the way to the end against the Cleveland Browns.
05:11They win 20-16.
05:12Cleveland has now lost four games in a row, and I think I saw a stat that says they're
05:15the first team in NFL history to play six games and not score 18 points in the first
05:20six weeks of the season.
05:21That's kind of crazy.
05:22Tampa Bay's offense explodes.
05:25They go to New Orleans.
05:26They get 51 points.
05:27They ran for over 200 yards.
05:29They win 51-27.
05:31Remember a few weeks ago when the Saints were 2-0?
05:34And everyone was saying, yeah, they're legit.
05:36They've lost four games since then.
05:37And Tampa Bay has looked a lot better.
05:39By the way, that was probably the most impressive offensive performance for Tampa Bay in years,
05:42maybe even going back to before Tom Brady at quarterback.
05:45All right, interesting scenario playing out yesterday between the Chargers and Broncos.
05:49Not the game, because the Chargers dominated.
05:51The Broncos pretty much start to finish.
05:53But their head coach, Jim Harbaugh, exited the game with heart flutters, is what they're
05:57calling it.
05:58But he returned to the sideline.
06:00The Chargers beat the Broncos by a final of 20-16.
06:03But it really wasn't that close.
06:04Chargers were 2-1, some places they were three-point favorites.
06:08But Harbaugh, pretty cheeky after the game, saying that he had to go into the medical
06:12tent.
06:13But it was much ado about nothing.
06:14Yeah, everything turned out to be OK.
06:17I deal with this, I guess, minor, it's called atrial flutter.
06:22And I got into an episode today with it.
06:25And then doctors checked me out.
06:27And it got back into sinus rhythm, normal rhythm.
06:32So I came back.
06:34Yeah, I've had a couple of ablations.
06:38One in 1999 and one in 2012.
06:41And I always remember the one in 2012, because it was during the Monday night game, Colin
06:48Kaepernick and the 49ers versus the Chicago Bears.
06:52And Colin had a great night that night.
06:54And yeah, I knew I was in it during the game.
06:57And after the game, I got checked out and ended up having to have an ablation for that
07:02one because it didn't go back into rhythm.
07:05But 2-0 with an arrhythmias.
07:10Not something to be excited about, I would not think.
07:18All right, Packers dominated the Arizona Cardinals yesterday.
07:21Jordan Love threw four touchdown passes.
07:23Again, Green Bay wins 34-13.
07:26The Atlanta Falcons just handed the ball off to Tyler Algier and B. John Robinson constantly.
07:31Over 200 yards on the ground, they beat Carolina, final 38-20.
07:36And also the Houston Texans went up very big on New England.
07:40Patriots made a lot of mistakes in this game, fumbles, interceptions, et cetera.
07:43Although Drake May did make his debut and throw three touchdown passes.
07:46But relatively speaking, game was not close.
07:4841-21, the Houston Texans finally starting to play some good football.
07:52All right, new AP college football poll is out.
07:56Number one team in the country, not a surprise, it's Texas.
07:58So guess who's in at number two?
08:00Of course, it's got to be Oregon.
08:02After their win against Ohio State on Saturday night, Penn State's three, Ohio State barely
08:07falls to four, Georgia went to five.
08:09By the way, Army undefeated, Navy undefeated, both ranked in the top 25.
08:14Meanwhile, Texas, Oklahoma, Red River rivalry goes to Oklahoma, 34-3.
08:19Crazy game Saturday night.
08:20We don't have enough time to get into it, but Oregon ended up beating Ohio State.
08:24LSU beat Ole Miss in overtime and Alabama barely beat South Carolina.
08:28National League Championship Series game two is coming up tonight with the Dodgers minus
08:33142 on the money line.
08:34And of course, ALCS game one is this evening between the Yankees and the Guardians.
