00:00A significant Monday night in the Tri-State in New York sports.
00:09Some teams playing in the greater New York City Tri-State area, some over in New Jersey.
00:15A team in Buffalo that also hails from the Empire State, a win over the New York Jets.
00:22And the two playoff teams in MLB also in action on Monday.
00:27One across the country in Los Angeles in game two of the NLCS, the other in the Bronx in
00:33game one of the American League Championship Series.
00:36We start in the NLCS, in game number two after the Mets got routed in game one by the Dodgers,
00:449-zip.
00:45LA continues its scoreless streak of 33 straight innings matching an MLB playoff record.
00:52One more inning, they set a new record by themselves.
00:56Francisco Lindor, to start off game number two, had other ideas.
01:00The very first at-bat of the game, eight pitches into it, he takes Ryan Brazier, the opener
01:06for LA, deep.
01:09The Mets never look back.
01:11A Mark Vientos grand slam in the second, the Mets opened up the scoring and they held on
01:17for a 7-3 win in game two of the National League Championship Series in Los Angeles
01:23as a road underdog to even up the LCS at a game apiece.
01:28Yeah, I mean, great record, great streak by the Dodger pitching staff to tie the 66 Orioles
01:37for the most consecutive postseason innings without giving up a run.
01:41But Lindor led that game off and was like, enough of this.
01:45And the Mets did exactly what they needed to do.
01:48I think they are a team that should play from in front.
01:52When they do play from in front, it's a little bit of a different situation.
01:56I mean, the Dodgers thought they got so much out of Flaherty in game one that this set
02:01up perfectly for a bullpen game for them.
02:04And well, didn't work out all that well for them there.
02:07They give up a lot of runs early.
02:09They did have opportunities to get back into it.
02:11So give Mattone credit, give, even though everything seems to be a sweat job when you
02:19know who shows up in the ninth inning there, but Manea did exactly what he needed to do.
02:25He gave them five strong, kept them in the game, you know, and he navigated around the
02:30top of that order, the meat and potatoes of that order.
02:33The Mets, to me, have the advantage here going to Citi Field tomorrow in a big way here.
02:40So we'll see if they can capitalize on it.
