00:00Let's start with your Philadelphia Phillies. Game number two. The Mets rallying, planning five in the eighth on Saturday to steal the opening game of the National League Division Series. It was back and forth in a big way. The Philz looked lifeless offensively early on. They trailed three to one and then Bryce Harper woke up. Two run shot. The bank electric. Nick Castellanos backs it up with a solo shot.
00:30They go back to back to tie the game at three all. Then the New York Mets come back. Mark Vientos, a two-run homer to tie it at six in the eighth inning. And then we head to the ninth or in the ninth inning, excuse me, for Vientos. As we go then to the home half of the ninth, a couple of runners on against Tyler McGill and Nick Castellanos again delivers for the Phillies.
00:58A walk-off RBI single. Seven to six to win for Philadelphia. The fight is even up this series at a game apiece after the opening two games of Red October at the bank.
01:10They don't call Bryce Harper the greatest showman for nothing here. Where do you pay all that money to superstar players to play well? It's in the biggest moments here. Dead and buried, a silent ballpark, a three to nothing deficit, two outs, two strikes, and an absolute nuke job to center field, which gets that ballpark going at three to two.
01:28And then another mistake by Severino, which makes it three-three as Nick Castellanos, who runs red-hot and ice-cold, finally gets back to the red-hot option and will get to his base hit a little bit later. But that's where you want it. And also, let's get back to Saturday. The Philadelphia Phillies were well-rested. They weren't playing well down the stretch.
01:45But Zach Wheeler, quite frankly, might be the best pitcher in baseball. Absolutely stones the Mets over seven innings, only for one of the better bullpens in baseball to give up that lead and get a hammered late in that game. So you're talking about the vibes being low at Citizens Bank ballpark here for that game on Sunday, and they were.
02:01Now, you had Sanchez come out and have a couple of good innings to start, and then you see the New York Mets start to hit the baseball. Their players making plays, the Phillies players not. Three to nothing, looks like the Phillies are going to be dead on arrival. And one of those, you say, hold on, they scored on a solo shot in the first inning of game number one, and it looked like they weren't going to score for the next 17 innings and finish out getting shut out in this one.
02:23And Bryce Harper rescued them, but credit the Phillies for fighting also. Later that game, three in the bottom of the eighth inning to get back into it and take the lead. And the bank was rocking only for the bullpen to give it up once again in the ninth inning. But credit Nick Castellanos and the Philadelphia Phillies, putting some quality at bats together with two outs.
02:40Trey Turner got on base, Bryce Harper got on base, and then Nick Castellanos hit a mistake pitch up in the zone from Tyler McGill to win that baseball game 7-6. This is why playoff baseball is awesome, because you know what? You never know what you're going to see inning to inning. And when you just think it's going to be a clean game and the bullpens are going to step up, they implode at the worst moments here. Each team had devastation in games one and two, which leads us up to a pivotal game number three back up at Citi Field.
