00:00Like, I was shocked when, you know, when I saw the Mets win in Atlanta the way they did
00:09on the Lindor home run, then we saw the Alonzo home run in Milwaukee and the ninth inning
00:14with one out.
00:15That was crazy.
00:16Then we see them get their ass beat in game one.
00:19They were literally sleepwalking nine, nothing.
00:22And then they turn around and smack them.
00:24They're up six and they win.
00:26Now they're home for three.
00:28And they have been the best team in baseball, better than the Dodgers, better than the Phillies,
00:32better than the Yankees, better than the Astros, better than the Guardians, better than the
00:36Tigers, Royals.
00:37They have been the best team in baseball since June 1st.
00:41That's all there is to it.
00:43Period.
00:44Period.
00:45Stop.
00:46They just have been and they're fun to watch.
00:47And this new version of Sean Mania we're seeing right now, where he's just taking pages out
00:50of Chris Sale's book, dominating that game against the Dodgers, not to mention dominating
00:54the Brewers right before that.
00:55The only thing that's interesting is, we talked about it on my show, we're like, can
00:59this Mets team win game two?
01:01Because if they didn't, to me, it was all she wrote.
01:03They were not going to give, they were not coming back to LA.
01:06This was going to be a five game series.
01:07And I thought wholeheartedly that the Mets were going to drop yesterday's game until
01:11six pitches into Francisco Lindor's first at bat.
01:14That was an elite at bat that ended up nine pitches with a home run.
01:18This team is resilient.
01:19They are good.
01:21And quite frankly, you put them in a chaos spot.
01:24They're amazing.
01:25And what I mean by that is, they played, what, 15 straight games.
01:28They had to play 16 games in that span just to make the dance, let alone continue to play
01:32throughout the dance.
01:34You give them a day off to go play the Dodgers.
01:35They show up asleep.
01:36The Dodgers beat their ass.
01:37You show up at literally 12 hours later for a quick turnaround in the next game.
01:41They beat the Dodgers ass.
01:43As long as you make it hard for the Mets, the Mets will win.
01:47Yeah, I think Quintana has been great.
01:49I know Diaz gets people's heart racing.
01:52But when he struck out, swore by him with 101 gas, a BB, that was, and he was lit too.
01:59He was just like, don't touch me.
02:01He was like, I'm not jumping up and down.
02:04Don't touch me.
02:05He was just lit.
02:06I think they got really exciting, lit guys that want to win.
02:11And I've hated them my whole life, but I don't hate this team.
02:15I just pretend that they're not the Mets.
02:17I just pretend like they're a really good team that's fun to watch, like you said, how
02:20fun they are to watch.
02:21Dude, they are a blast to watch.
02:24And we had, you know, how he rose on the show last week.
02:27And I asked him, what's the difference between this Mets team to other Mets teams?
02:30Tell, what's the difference in Brandon Nimmo right now compared to the guy that I played
02:34with Brandon Nimmo in 2017?
02:36And he described this Mets team as like, dude, you go in that locker room, you look around,
02:40there's no clicks.
02:41I've been in a lot of big league locker rooms.
02:43When I say there are clicks is an understatement.
02:45It's this section over here, this section of four guys, the Latin guys over there, the
02:50college guys over here, and it's just a direct, it's just completely separated group.
02:54They said in that locker room, it's everybody is together.
02:57You got you got Alonzo playing dominoes with Lindor, who's playing dominoes with Diaz,
03:02who who's playing a playing indoor basketball game over there with McNeil.
03:07It's just a tight knit group of dudes and watching guys like Nimmo.
03:11I mean, dude, if you didn't watch Nimmo after that division series where he's at second
03:14base by himself, kind of separating, kind of taking it all in the guy that was drafted
03:18first round in 2011.
03:20This is guy was left off the playoff roster in 1516, struggling in AAA with me in 17,
03:27all the way to this all star in a multi year deal.
03:29And now just a heartbeat away from the World Series and the crowd chanting Nimmo over and
03:33over again.
03:34Dude, there's something legitimately special brewing in Queens, and it ain't going anywhere
03:39anytime soon.
