00:21At its 16th edition,
00:23the Eni Award has become a prestigious international reference point
00:27in the field of scientific research,
00:29demonstrating Eni's constant commitment to promoting innovation,
00:33sustainability and access to energy,
00:36in line with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations.
00:40The award for the Energy Transition section
00:43was awarded to Marc Foncave of the Collège de France
00:46for his research on innovative technologies to enhance CO2
00:50as an alternative source of carbon for the production of industrial-interested compounds.
00:56I am very happy and proud to have received this award
01:01because it represents a recognition of the quality of the work
01:05that we have done, not only me, but also all my students,
01:08PhD students, post-doctoral researchers and engineers working with me.
01:18It is therefore a collective success,
01:20even though I am a scientist who comes from basic research.
01:23Now all our efforts are oriented towards technological,
01:27industrial and practical applications,
01:29also thanks to collaborations with companies.
01:32This is the path we are taking
01:34and this award confirms to us that this is the right strategy.
01:42In the Young Talents from Africa section,
01:44the award was awarded, among others,
01:46to Petra Chui of the Egerton University of Kenya
01:49for her research on microplastics.
01:53The Eni Award means a lot to me
01:55because studying and conducting research in Africa
01:58and obtaining recognition on a global level
02:00shows that what we do locally can have an impact on the whole world.
02:05I am very grateful for this recognition
02:08that gives me the drive to work even harder
02:11and achieve better results in the field of research on microplastics.
02:16...and create more impact in the field of microplastics.
02:19While in the special mention EniJowl for Entrepreneurship,
02:23one of the awarded start-ups is the HBI Human-Based Innovation.
02:27This award means a change of course for us.
02:30We go from start-ups to real companies,
02:32so here we renew our commitment to find a solution,
02:35to promote it so that it is sustainable,
02:38circular and durable in the medium-long term.
