00:05the UK this weekend. Let's take a look at the details. Saturday starts off fine and
00:10bright, although chilly for Scotland and Northern Ireland. Meanwhile, England and Wales will
00:14be milder but cloudy, with spells of rain over the Midlands, central, southern and eastern
00:19England. That rain will gradually clear away eastwards by around mid-afternoon, clearing
00:23from eastern England. Elsewhere across the UK, there will be bright or sunny spells developing.
00:28Temperatures will be around average for the time of year as well. Into Sunday, however,
00:33storm Ashley will be approaching and winds will strengthen. There will be some rain as
00:37well, across northern and western parts of the UK to begin the day, and that rain will
00:41gradually clear eastwards, becoming light and patchy as it does. Behind that, blustery
00:45showers will develop from the north-west, and the winds will strengthen, with widespread
00:49gales, particularly across northern and western regions of the UK, where gusts of around 50
00:54mph are likely around parts of Scotland, Northern Ireland, the north-west of England
00:59and Wales, and up to 80 mph around western parts of Scotland. This is likely to cause
01:04some disruption and damage, and coastal flooding will also be a risk due to the strong winds
01:09and the high tides.
