00:00All right guys, let's talk about the iPhone 11 here in 2024
00:09So this is kind of a strange phone, I get a lot of questions about this phone
00:14And the reason why I say it's strange is because of the price
00:17So the iPhone 12, you can get a good condition iPhone 12 for around 250 bucks
00:24So I think if you live in the United States
00:26I would really actually shop around for an iPhone 12 instead of an iPhone 11
00:30Now I understand people outside of the United States, the prices will vary
00:35The prices will be way different from an iPhone 11 to a 12
00:39It might be like a bigger price gap
00:41But you can see it's around 224 and then we just saw that it's 250 to right here
00:48So I would much prefer you get an iPhone 12 and just spend that extra 20 bucks
00:52And get an iPhone 12, it'll last longer and it's slightly better in various ways
00:57Now again, if you live overseas and there's a big price gap
01:00I still think the iPhone 11 is still a pretty good buy
01:03Especially if you want an iPhone
01:05I wouldn't go lower than the iPhone 11
01:08I wouldn't do the XS or the iPhone X or anything like that
01:11I think this is definitely a sweet spot to spend your money
01:15So I want to start off with the hardware
01:17I think the interesting thing about the iPhone 11 is that it still looks really good here in 2024
01:22It still has that really nice look to it
01:25And I think it feels 10 times better than the newer iPhones
01:29It's nowhere near as sharp and boxy
01:32And it feels really good in the palm
01:34That's something that I really like
01:35And I think the design still, it doesn't look like an old phone to me
01:39I think this phone is aging pretty nicely here
01:42It's IP68 dust and water resistant as well too
01:45And overall I just really like the hardware
01:47You got the nice brushed aluminum on here as well too
01:51So I think the design on here still looks pretty good
01:55Another interesting thing about the iPhone 11 is the display
01:58So when the display first came out
02:01The display was outdated as far as specification wise
02:05Now as far as just looking at it straight up
02:10The display still looks fine
02:12It's still a very sharp panel
02:14And it still looks decent
02:16The only reason I said it's a little bit outdated in 2024
02:20Is because this is actually a 720p plus display
02:25So it's not a very high res display
02:28But since this phone has kind of a high PPI for the screen size at 326
02:33It still looks fairly sharp, it's 6.1 inches
02:36And it is an IPS LCD display
02:38Which Apple or anyone else, no one uses the IPS LCD displays anymore
02:45But again, the display is fine
02:48I hear a lot of people in the comments say that the IPS LCD display is better on the eyes as well too
02:54And again, I don't really experience a difference
02:59But the display, again, it still looks fine
03:03Outdoors, it's not the brightest display
03:06In direct sunlight
03:08Of course for an older phone, it's like 625 nits for the max brightness
03:13So not super super bright
03:15But indoors, it looks great
03:17So as far as the display goes, it looks fine
03:20You have the kind of old school notch up here as well too
03:23But the icons and everything still look sharp
03:26Colors are fine
03:27So it's a pretty decent panel
03:29So another common question with this phone is
03:31How long will this phone actually get software updates?
03:34And it's pretty interesting
03:36So Apple's track record is usually
03:38It's usually like 5 to 6 years
03:41So this phone, it should get iOS 18
03:44And it might get iOS 19 as well too
03:48So it's just something that we have to see here
03:51It is running iOS 17
03:53I definitely expect it again to get iOS 18
03:56But it's kind of like a coin flip on whether it'll get iOS 19
04:00Now performance wise, as far as running iOS
04:03It's still very very smooth surprisingly
04:05This chipset is very fast
04:07So you do have the Apple A13 chip on here
04:11And it's a very fast chip
04:12So don't be fooled by the age
04:14Apple chips are aging extremely well
04:17These phones are blazing blazing fast still
04:20Years later
04:21So that's one of the good things about these iPhones
04:24As you can see, it's still fast
04:26There's no real slowdowns here with this device for the most part
04:31And even gaming is also pretty decent on the iPhone 11 as well too
04:36If we just go ahead and load up PUBG here
04:39Now as far as gaming, not bad at all
04:42When it comes to the performance of the iPhone 11
04:46We're still able to run PUBG at HDR Extreme
04:49And it works fine for the most part
04:52I do notice that on the iPhone 11
04:54If you're doing long periods of gaming
04:57You will definitely kind of heat up a little bit
05:00Which is something that I noticed
05:02Now I haven't had any type of crashes
05:04Even though I'm not really a big gamer
05:06But I haven't had any kind of crashes or performance problems
05:09But even right now just launching PUBG
05:11We're already getting a little bit warm
05:13But yeah, definitely the gaming performance
05:16And just performance in general
05:18Is still pretty good on here
05:20So it can make a pretty decent budget gaming device
05:25Especially if you're into iPhones
05:27So you will be able to game and stuff like that
05:29No problem
05:30My only issue with the base model iPhone 11
05:33Is that the storage is way too low in 2024
05:37It's only got 64GB of internal storage
05:39And 4GB of RAM
05:40So if you take a lot of video
05:42Download a lot of games and stuff
05:43You're going to run out of storage pretty fast
05:46So just do note that
05:48And again, that's if you download a lot of content
05:51The cameras on the iPhone 11
05:53I think have aged pretty decently for the most part
05:57It's got a 12MP standard and a 12MP ultrawide
06:00There's no telephoto lens
06:02It shoots in 4K60 on the front and back
06:05Has a 12MP selfie cam
06:07And basically the cameras are decent in good lighting
06:11Decent color
06:12But again, just like most old flagships
06:14When you take it out of any type of good lighting
06:17The pictures definitely will get a little bit soft
06:19And you can kind of see the age of the camera a little bit
06:23Video I still think is pretty good for the most part
06:26Sometimes you'll run into some white balance issues
06:28But overall, I think for a point and click
06:31And just some good lighting
06:33You can still get a pretty good shot out of the iPhone 11
06:36It's only, again, when you take it out of good lighting
06:40Then it'll kind of struggle a little bit
06:42But colors are vibrant
06:44Ultrawide camera is pretty consistent with the main lens
06:47Not too many issues as far as performance with the camera
06:53The speakers are still pretty good on the iPhone 11
06:56Go ahead, max it out for you
07:24Yeah, so they sound pretty good
07:25Very nice clear sound
07:27Pretty good bass
07:28I'm not mad at the speakers at all
07:30I think they've aged really nice on here as well
07:33Now, also, the face ID still works, you know, the same
07:37For the most part, still pretty fast
07:39Even compared to the newest iPhones
07:41Nothing's really changed there
07:43So yeah, so I'm not really mad at, you know, the speakers
07:46Where, you know, the biometrics are still pretty fast
07:50All right, so the issue that you might run into with this phone
07:54And, you know, it depends on your battery health
07:58But battery life is not bad
08:00But it's not, like, I wouldn't say it's pretty good battery life
08:04Even if this phone was at, like, 100% battery health
08:07You could probably, if you're a light user, squeeze, like
08:11Maybe six hours of screen on time
08:13With 87%, I remember this phone was able to get
08:17Like around 5 hours and 30 minutes, something like that
08:21A screen on time
08:22So just check the battery health if you, like, buy on eBay
08:26Now, you can get the battery swapped out for pretty cheap
08:29Like 20 bucks, I think
08:31But yeah, just do note that
08:33But the battery life on here
08:35Is just gonna be somewhat, you know, decent to below average
08:39So it's not gonna be anything crazy
08:41Now, this does have wireless charging as well
08:44So you get to take advantage of that
08:46And you have, you know, your standard charging
08:49Which isn't really that fast
08:51I think the iPhone 11 is decent
08:53Like I said, if you live in the United States, go for the 12
08:57If you're outside of the United States
08:59And there's, like, a big, you know, price gap
09:01Definitely pick it up
09:03I think it's a much better option than the XS or X or anything like that
