00:00All right guys, let's talk about why now this mid 2024 is one of the best times to buy an old flagship phone
00:07I'm gonna give you guys also, you know five reasons why I think you should buy a flagship phone an old flagship phone over a budget phone
00:14You know a mid-range phone and even a newer flagship. You might not need a newer flagship
00:18All right. So let's go ahead and get into it and I know a lot of people, you know
00:22Don't really like old flagship phones, but maybe I can you know change your mind in this video
00:27So let's talk about the first thing is the price
00:30So one of the most popular older flagship phones on my channel is the galaxy note 20 ultra
00:36you can see it's come down in price to 319 and this is a
00:40Excellent excellent phone for this price point and I buy all of my phones use refurbished. So
00:47Probably 90% of the phones on this channel you see are gonna be used refurbished and I usually get it from Amazon eBay
00:53I've got one from swappa. That was really good as well, too
00:56But what I always look for is just good seller
00:59So that's pretty much what a lot of people are scared of
01:02So I always look for how many items the guy has sold because you can have sell two things on eBay and have a hundred
01:08Percent rating this guy's sold, you know
01:1172,000 and he's got you know, almost hundred percent rating. So that's how
01:16Always make sure you know, I buy from good sellers
01:18Here's another phone that I really like the s 22 plus which is one of my favorite old flagships of this year
01:24You can see it's like 289 for a used refurbished version. So it'll cost you about the same as a
01:33galaxy a55 and
01:36this phone is much much much much better than a galaxy a55 for a lot of reasons now the next reason is going to
01:44Be gaming performance
01:45The number one thing that people always ask me about on this channel is typically gaming performance is usually people who are on a budget
01:53but they want good gaming performance and what happens is a lot of people buy budget phones and then they
02:00They don't really get really good gaming performance at all
02:03Really or what will happen is they'll buy a budget phone and it starts off fast and then it'll get slow over time
02:09You know with software updates and stuff like that with old flagship phones
02:12These phones pretty much are still gonna be fast for years and years to come
02:17For example, I have a galaxy s 10e here and this has a snapdragon 855 and you can see it's able to play Genshin Impact
02:24No problem. It's able to still play Call of Duty
02:28Mobile really good settings is able to still play pub G at really good setting so you can pretty much game on this phone
02:35No problem, I don't have any issues no overheating problems
02:39And like I said, the settings are gonna be way more superior
02:43So for instance on a note 20 ultra here, we even got pub G at 90 frames
02:49So you can definitely do, you know competitive gaming on these older flagship phones
02:54Which is what a lot of people really like it'll perform much better than something like, you know
02:59This galaxy a 34 that I have the 835 even even the a 55
03:05Most budget phones it'll just perform outperform them. So these phones and also these snapdragon chips are
03:12Really well optimized as well, too
03:14I would say the third thing about old flagship phones is that you don't have to give up the
03:21headphone jack and
03:23SD card support so that's a huge thing on
03:27This channel as well to a lot of people really like having SD card support having expandable storage a lot of people don't like
03:34To basically be stuck with the same storage. So basically, let's say here the LG v60 here
03:42If I go to Amazon I get a LG v60
03:48For
03:49You know little to nothing these phones are very very cheap
03:52$159 I got bought. Yeah, I even bought my dad one for Father's Day and
03:57Let's see. Let's see. What's that 128 you get an SD card?
04:03Micro SD card
04:05So you can pretty much have a big amount of storage you can get another 128 for $15
04:11And if you really wanted to, you know, just have a ton of storage you get a 512 gigabyte
04:17Let's see what those are going for 40 bucks
04:2070 bucks 42. Yeah, so you can get a
04:23expandable storage you get a lot of storage and
04:25Honestly, you can have an infinite amount of storage because you can always just if it fills up you just swap it out
04:31So if you're doing something that requires you to have a lot of storage you take a lot of video
04:35Download a lot of content, whatever
04:37That's what these phones are are really good for a lot of people also don't like to put stuff in the cloud
04:42I'm one of them as well to you. I don't like to say pictures to the cloud or anything like that
04:47So definitely I think the SD card support is definitely still relevant in
04:542024 for sure number two on my list is going to be the cameras
04:58So these old flagships take excellent photos
05:04Still and really, you know phones like the galaxy s 22
05:08Series the pixel 7 Pro the iPhone and I would say 12 and 13
05:13These phones take excellent photos guys, and I'm I'm like
05:17Always blown away with how good the quality is
05:20Especially when the like say the iPhone 16 comes out when I compare it to the iPhone 12 a lot of people
05:25They're actually shocked at how close the image quality is
05:29So that's why I always do that and just to show people that these phones take phenomenal photos
05:35The pixel device is still even if I got out like a pixel 6 Pro
05:38It's still taking better pictures or pretty much on par pictures as
05:44iPhone 15 Pro Max or as a galaxy s 24 ultra these pixel phones take phenomenal photos
05:50You can like get the cheapest pixel you can find like a pixel 6 or something like that. It's still gonna take
05:57Excellent photos in our phone video is also really solid as well to it's always been really impressive to me
06:03But yeah, so video quality
06:06Image quality it'll be way way better than any type of mid-range or budget phone
06:13That you can get and also
06:16Lastly and number one and this is the complaint that I get a lot of people
06:20They don't like the fact that a lot of old flagships
06:23They're either on their last maybe two or three updates say for instance like a galaxy s 21 ultra
06:29It's last major us update is gonna be Android 15
06:33And a lot of people they don't like using phones that aren't getting the latest updates
06:38Which again I can make a whole separate video on that
06:41I do think it's kind of overrated a little bit the software updates most people typically
06:46Don't get hacked because they're not updated to the latest software
06:51For the most part it's usually phishing scams and stuff like that
06:54I've never had like an old flagship of mine get hacked or anything as long as the app still working can be updated
07:00I've never really had an issue with that for the most part, but like I said
07:03I'm not security expert or anything like that, but yeah, that's just my opinion
07:07You know my experience, but if we look here. This is the I think the most exciting thing about old flagship phones
07:14Google announced that they'll be in Samsung also did this too. They extended the lifespan of software support so typically Android phones
07:21We usually get like maybe three four years and major us updates
07:25Well now if you have a pixel 8 Pro and like the the s24 ultra you get like seven years and major us updates
07:32That's gonna be huge for the old flagship marketplace now a lot of people think that once this happens
07:38the price of the old flagships will
07:41Like remain the same or they won't go down I
07:44Still don't think think it will but it's possible, but I just I can't I just can't see that that really happening
07:52But yeah, so that's like a big thing for me so the software support is gonna be longer
07:58Which is means that these phones are gonna last much longer for software even though they already last you can use a galaxy s10e
08:04There's this phone does everything still all the apps work
08:08You know
08:10There's nothing that this phone can't really do but a lot of people they like having the latest software and stuff like that
08:15just say for instance typically the
08:17The major us updates don't really bring a lot of features for the most part like you can't really tell the difference between
08:24Like Android 12 is not like a big difference from is gonna be a big difference from Android. You know 14 15 whatever
08:32But like I think the biggest addition we've got lately with software. It's probably the
08:40Galaxy AI features and stuff like that and iPhone is gonna be bringing the AI stuff which
08:45Honestly that that's something that is up to the user whether they think that's you know important or stuff like that
