00:16Joshua, the NDRRMC is now in a blue alert status regarding the expected effects of Hurricane Christine.

00:47According to OCD Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno,

00:51they need the public's help to ensure that the government's actions will not be neglected.

00:58The OCD is paying particular attention to the vulnerable communities.

01:02For now, the OCD has issued a directive to their regional offices

01:07to make preparedness measures for the storm.

01:10This includes heightened monitoring for warnings and advisories

01:14from the Pag-asa and Mines and Geosciences Bureau

01:18Pre-disaster risk assessment and weather update sessions

01:23Issuing weather information to vulnerable communities

01:26and coordinating with local governments.

01:29The OCD is also alerted to the effects of the storm.

01:33In particular, it is now targeting the province of Batanes that was first hit by Hurricane Julian.

01:40Defense Secretary Gilberto Chodoro first instructed the public to prepare for the effects of the storm.

01:46Chodoro said that they are now coordinating with all concerned agencies

01:51to form a comprehensive action plan.

01:54The OCD is also alerted to the impact of the DSWD

01:58that could affect more than a million individuals.

02:03According to the Mines and Geosciences report,

02:05more than 5,000 barangays are affected by landslides and floods.

02:37The Philippine Coast Guard issued a Sea Travel Advisory
