00:00Arjun's various identities reveal themselves when he looks at his skins in the battlefield
00:18and the consequences the war will have on everyone he is related to.
00:25While I can relate to him conceptually, one rarely has a situation of this scale in front of him
00:31in their day-to-day life where it is a matter of life and death.
00:36You have always said that we are all Arjuns. Please help me understand the gravity of the
00:41statement. Do you mean that the seemingly small events of our day-to-day life
00:46two are a matter of life and death? Yes, obviously. You see Arjun being present in a battlefield
00:58appears a special event to you because you are not a warrior belonging to that era.
01:04His presence in the battlefield is really an extraordinary event for Arjun.
01:17That's his normal day-to-day life, isn't it? Yes, it's a bit out of the ordinary in the sense that
01:26today he is set against his own relatives, but even that is not happening for the first time.
01:37Half a dozen times previously Arjun has fought many of the warriors who are today lined up against him
01:48and many of those who are today standing against him have sometimes been on Arjun's side.
01:53Conversely, a few those who are on Arjun's side today have sometimes been against Arjun.
02:02So there is nothing extraordinary in Arjun's situation for Arjun.
02:11But you are a householder, you are not a Kshatriya warrior.
02:15So when you look at Arjun, you feel oh such an extraordinary situation, family members, gang war.
02:24Gangs of Hastinapur, too bad.
02:31For you it is extremely abnormal, for Arjun it is not.
02:40For Arjun it is not. It's a bread and butter thing.
02:42Yeah, where is the bow, where is the arrow, who is to wish?
02:48That's what Kshatriyas are supposed to do, right?

02:54So it is in that normal situation that Arjun experiences a dilemma for the first time,
03:02a kind of dilemma that no other warrior is experiencing.
03:07In fact, the others must be getting frustrated and bored and puzzled.
03:13What the hell is happening to this Arjun chap?
03:15I mean, come on dude, fight.
03:20Let's just finish this off.
03:24Either I get killed or you get killed.
03:27Just chill.
03:32It's a day-to-day bread and butter thing.
03:34Somebody has to get killed.
03:40Look at all the people present on the battlefield.
03:45Nobody is carrying a virgin sword.
03:53All have blood on their hands.
03:56There is nobody there who has not killed at least a dozen people in his lifetime.
04:05So it's a run-of-the-mill day-to-day affair.
04:12It's like a normal to-do list.
04:14Eat, sleep, kill.

05:59the battlefield of Kurukshetra.
06:05You will never find yourself in Kurukshetra.
06:10Kurukshetra today is a well-developed urban area.
06:14Who will allow you to fight there?
06:16That too with bows and arrows.
06:18They won't even put you in jail.
06:19They will put you in asylum.
06:22That is the reward of those who seek to emulate.
06:25Think of this fellow, from somewhere he has gathered 5 or 7 emaciated horses, tied them
06:39to some kind of a chariot from a circus that shut down.
06:47Yeah, I mean there are all kinds of auctions.
06:49Bombasar was a circus shutting down and they are auctioning a chariot and this fellow is
06:58an avid Arjuna fan.
07:02He manages to get it in all of 56 rupees and then sets off for Kurukshetra, carrying a
07:16bow and an arrow.
07:17The bow and arrow are relics of his ancient past.
07:26When he used to stay in Badaiu, then there was the Dussehra Mela and from there once
07:35his uncle had bought him the bow and arrow and the bugger now digs the old family treasure
07:43out, the bow and arrow.
07:47Sits on his wanted vehicle, sets off, he is emulating Arjuna and expecting that Krishna
07:56would be waiting there for him, over a cup of cappuccino.
08:08It will take a lot to get this fellow bailed out, I tell you.
08:12No advocate will be prepared to take him for a client.
08:24You will never get those conditions again.
08:31Your house is Kurukshetra.
08:37Your workplace is Kurukshetra.
08:39Your shop, your society is Kurukshetra.
08:49Are you getting it?
08:51That's your Kurukshetra.
08:55That which appears ordinary and normal and day-to-day to you is your Kurukshetra.
09:03And day-to-day to you is your Kurukshetra.
09:08That's where you have to fight your Mahabharata.
09:12That's where you need Krishna.
09:14That's where you need Gita.
09:33That's where you need Krishna.
