00:00Exciting things are coming to the Reno series. This is our look at the OPPO Reno 8 Pro.
00:30Good day, you beautiful people. Welcome to Ysera's Tech, where we do tech in your life, in style.
00:43That was our quick unboxing of the OPPO Reno 8 Pro, and in this video, we're gonna be looking
00:47at what's new. Also, we're doing a quick camera tour and some sample shots. Now, before we begin,
00:52OPPO also released the OPPO Reno 8, and I have a video of that as well. I'll link it up here and
00:59down below, and that video is where I also put the OPPO Reno 8 and the OPPO Reno 8 Pro side by side.
01:06Right? Let's take a closer look at the OPPO Reno 8 Pro. So, I have the OPPO Reno 8 Pro in mint green.
01:15Now, I know that the color doesn't pop as much on video, but for context, this is what a white phone
01:21looks like. This is the OPPO Find X5 Pro in ceramic white, and this is the OPPO Reno 8 Pro in
01:28mint green. The sides of this phone are flat, and they match the color of the phone. I like that
01:34little touch. That's a bigger camera module, but again, those curves are looking so good. It makes
01:41the phone look so premium. And again, this design is reminiscent of the Find device camera modules.
01:48On the right, you have a power button. Bottom gives you a speaker, USB-C port, SIM tray. Now, it's
01:55so cute that their SIM tool has a smiley face on it. I don't know if they did that on purpose, but
02:00can't unsee that. Dual SIM slot. On the other side, you have volume buttons, and up top, pretty clean.
02:09This phone features a selfie punch hole
02:12up top on the middle, and there is an in-display fingerprint scanner.
02:39This phone is powered by Amazotek Dimensity 8100 Max, but the most important thing to note here is that
02:50this thing is also powered by OPPO's in-house imaging chip, Mary Silicon X. Now, for context,
02:55the Mary Silicon X first debuted in the OPPO Find X5, which is their flagship phone. Again, another
03:00thing that has trickled down to the Reno series, and it's supposed to make nighttime shooting better
03:05with this device. On the OPPO Reno 8 Pro, this means better 4K ultra night video and better 4K HDR
03:12video. You're also looking at footage shot with the Reno 8 Pro in a very dimly lit room right now.
03:20That imaging chip should also help with low-light portrait photos, and initial samples like these
03:26have impressed. It's crazy how well those photos came out because this was my lighting for shooting
03:33those rear portrait shots. Even in this accidental vid, I was impressed, and so I tried it more on
03:40situations where lighting was a little challenging to shoot, and let me tell you, it looked very good.
03:52Up front, there's also a 32 megapixel selfie camera, which can do wide and even zoom into 2x,
03:59but more on that on the camera tour. Another thing about this phone is that it has 80 watts
04:04SuperVOOC fast charging. OPPO claims that roughly translates to 50% of your battery in 11 minutes,
04:10which is quite impressive. Of course, I had to try it out, and at the 5-minute mark, the phone was at
04:1521%. I got from 0 to 42% at the 11-minute mark, which didn't quite make the promise of 50%,
04:23but take note that this also wasn't plugged in straight to the wall because I needed a socket
04:29that would fit, so it was plugged to a strip with nothing else plugged onto it. Regardless, battery
04:34charging speed was impressive, and at the 35-minute mark, I was at 94%. I got as far as 97%
04:40at 37 minutes, at which point I unplugged my phone because I wanted to use it. Although it is to be
04:47noted that in regions where voltage is 110, it only goes up to 66 watt fast charging. The Reno8 Pro
04:55also features a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, a cooling system, and ColorOS 12.1
05:03with, get this, air gestures. And I know, I know, this isn't the first time we've seen this feature
05:08on a smartphone, but like, it's so cool with TikTok. Look, I can swipe up to the next TikTok
05:14without touching my phone. Extremely useful for when you're like brushing your teeth and
05:19watching TikTok, which, who does that? But sometimes I do that, so. So those are just a few of the things
05:26that I'm excited for with OPPO Reno8 Pro. Again, this is just our first look, so let me know what
05:32questions you have in the comment section below. Also, let me know if you want me to do a camera
05:36vlog test or a social media test. Let me know. Right, let's get to the camera tour. Let's go camera
05:42tour time. So we have wide, 1x, 2x, up until 20x, back to 1x. And you have flash settings, HDR settings,
05:56you also have AI, and a 50 megapixel shooting mode up there. Now, as you can see, it keeps on
06:02saying portrait because AI is turned on. And so now there's a suggestion to try portrait mode
06:08because it recognizes that there's a person in the shot. At the bottom, you have retouch, you have
06:12filters, and then up top, you have your timer, aspect ratio, and then even more settings. On the right,
06:19you have a portrait mode, you have your background blur from 1.4 to an aperture of 16, you have timer
06:27settings, and then you also have more settings. And then under more, there are a lot. So you have a
06:34pro photo mode with all the different settings. And you have histogram, you have timer, you have
06:42flash settings, you also have size under more settings, more settings. And then you can do 1x,
06:492x, up until 10x, back to 1x. You have an extra HD mode, 1x, 2x, up until 5x. At the right side,
06:59you have your different filters, flash settings, timer settings, pano mode, macro mode here. You also
07:06have film mode, which is nice because this is basically the mode for people who want to shoot
07:13like more cinematic video on your phone. So you can do wide, 1x up until, well, widen 1x. You have a
07:21steady mode here. As you can see, it crops in. What's this? Ooh, grid. You can minimize all the settings.
07:29So basically, this is the pro mode but for video. You have a slow-mo mode. Ooh, motion detection.
07:36You have flash, and then 960fps for 720p, 1080p for 80fps. And then you have motion detection on.
07:45Ooh, you can toggle. So for example, you have 120, 240, up until 960, but that downgrades to 720.
07:54You have time-lapse mode, dual video. Again, this is something we've seen before. We can switch around
07:59the views as well. We have stickers. Okay, let's check this out. Again, we've seen these before in
08:07other OPPO devices. That's cute. Look at this. Ooh. And then there's a text scanner, always useful.
08:15And Soloop templates, which is basically Soloop is OPPO's editing app. It's actually free and it's
08:21pretty good. And here, you have different templates that you can pick from for whatever video you want
08:28to shoot. Okay, let's move on to the other side. You have video and you have wide, 1x, 2x, and you can
08:36zoom up until 10x, back to 1x. And you have a bokeh video mode, basically portrait mode on video.
08:46Can do an aperture of 16 to 1.4, but it changes to 1080p. You also have different detach modes and
08:54filters, color blocking filters. Look, it's the green. And then blue. Wait, I don't have blue.
09:04And then up top, you have flash settings. You have a steady mode. And again, that's 1080p ultra steady
09:10mode. You have AI, toggle this on or off. And then you can shoot video in 4k with a rear camera.
09:18On the right, that's a night mode. You have wide, 1x, 2x, up until 10x, back to 1x. And then here, you
09:27have your different filters. You have a tripod mode, timer. Right, let's see if it has a selfie mode.
09:36Hey, that's the beauty mode. I am not that smooth. Okay, wait, look. I do not have a pimple.
09:47And this is what I actually look like. My pimple is back. I'd like to switch this to natural because
09:54guys, the beauty mode is nice to enhance how you look, to look a little bit fresher, but there's
09:59nothing wrong with your imperfections. Okay, so there is a night mode on selfie. You can do wide, 1x,
10:06and well, wide and 1x. You have flash settings, timer settings, size settings. On the right, you have
10:13wide, 1x, 2x, and that's as much as you'll go. You also have a portrait mode here on selfie.
10:21And then, of course, you have your beauty filters. Let's go with natural again. And so up here, you
10:28have flash settings. You have steady mode. Ooh, look at that. Okay, let's turn that off. You have AI,
10:36and then you can choose 1080p or 720p. Now, I will say that's one thing I'm a little bit
10:41disappointed about. I would like 4k on my selfie cameras nowadays because I'd like to be vlogging.
10:48On the right, you have photo selfies, wide, 1x, 2x, as well. And then back to 1x, you have your
10:56different retouch filters. You have flash settings, HDR settings, timer, size, and then portrait mode
11:03on selfie, 1x, and wide. And you can toggle the blur between 1.4 to an aperture of 16. And then,
11:10we're back to more. So now, let's get on to some sample shots.
11:31That was our first look at the OPPO Reno8 Pro. Another exciting device from OPPO, and I'm really
11:37excited to test this out a little bit more. That's it for today. If you want to know how I
