00:00I've been dying to get my hands on this phone and it's finally here.
00:03Friends, this is our look at the OnePlus Open.
00:06♪
00:16It has been a year of foldables and I've been waiting for this phone since last year.
00:21Good day, you beautiful people.
00:23Welcome to Eto the Tech, where we do tech in your life, in style.
00:26In today's video, we're finally unboxing the OnePlus Open.
00:30And yes, if you've followed along on the channel, I know you guys know that we've
00:34previously checked out a phone that I'm just gonna say is more than similar to this foldy.
00:40But heck, this is a OnePlus and I've been wanting to get my hands on this
00:44phone for a while now and it's finally here.
00:47So without further ado, let's unbox.
00:56♪
01:16♪
01:41Let's take a closer look at this phone.
01:43So this back is nice and matte.
01:45Fingerprint and lock button here.
01:46You have your volume rocker and of course, that toggle which is very OnePlus.
01:51It's for silent and vibration mode.
01:53Now up top, you have your speakers.
01:55So as down below and that USB-C charging port.
01:59As you can see, this phone really does have a very big camera module.
02:04And despite this being a very sleek phone, well, for a foldable,
02:08unfolding is very satisfying and that's a nice sturdy hinge.
02:12Now camera count, you get one up top there.
02:15You also get another one when unfolded.
02:18And of course, you get those three rear powerful cameras.
02:24This is how that flip looks.
02:27Let me show you again.
02:31And again.
02:32Now there's always still a crease on these foldies but as you can see,
02:36like it doesn't really feel that bad at all anymore.
02:40And this hinge, just like I said, it's very sturdy.
02:43It does flip back when you fold it just a little bit but it does keep those angles.
02:49And you know what those angles mean.
02:50They mean more shooting positions.
02:53So first off, you can take a photo with this selfie camera
02:57but you can also unfold the phone and take a photo with this camera.
03:00Now as you can see, tap here.
03:02It gives you that two panel situation.
03:05If you tap this, you see that the cover screen is on
03:09and all the controls are over here.
03:12Now this is specifically great for vlogging by yourself
03:15because then you have a preview and you're using the best cameras on the phone.
03:19And this is the best part.
03:20As you can see, the screen disables.
03:22So no need to worry about accidentally touching anything on that big screen.
03:27Now if you flip those cameras over, you're gonna see this other button
03:31and that is your dual preview mode.
03:34As you can see, the preview is still now turned on
03:36but you don't have any controls.
03:38So this is the mode that works best if you want someone to take your photos for you.
03:43You can frame yourself still as someone takes that shot.
03:47You can also of course fold this and shoot this way.
03:53And you can even switch out that preview.
03:56Now I've been trying to shoot well with the front facing camera
04:01but I don't think it really works if you unlock the phone.
04:06Did you see that?
04:07It automatically turns off.
04:08So yeah, but still many different ways to shoot with this Foldy.
04:13All in all, I like the feel of this Foldy.
04:16It does fold as if it's a bigger phone still
04:20but it's not that bulky, I would say.
04:23And the front screen isn't awkward to use
04:25because it is shaped like a normal-sized candy bar phone.
04:30So this is the OnePlus Open and the Oppo Find N3 side by side.
04:35And as you can see, they are very, very, very similar phones.
04:40One could say that they're actually the same phone.
04:44The thing is, these two phones differ in availability
04:47so the OnePlus Open is available in the US and I believe in Europe.
04:52Meantime, the Oppo Find N3 is available in the Asia market.
04:56Because I just got the OnePlus Open,
04:59I obviously spent more time with the Oppo Find N3.
05:02I also have a video on it.
05:04And if you've seen that, you'd know my thoughts on this phone.
05:07I will say that having had spent more time on the Oppo Find N3
05:10that this is one durable phone.
05:13I even dropped this in the ocean.
05:16Like full-on salt water, which you're not supposed to do.
05:20And by all means, I didn't think it would survive
05:23but it did and it's doing amazingly as if I never dropped it in the ocean.
05:28So if that's any indication of durability when it comes to the OnePlus Open,
05:33then we're pretty good.
05:37Camera tour time, let's go.
05:38So we are at wide under photos.
05:411x, you get a 2x.
05:45And then you also have a 3x, 6x, and you can zoom up until 120x.
05:53That's pretty far out.
05:56And then back to wide.
05:58On this right side, you also have your touch settings
06:02and many different filters.
06:04Like there are a lot of stuff on here.
06:07You can add your photos.
06:08On the right side, you have even more settings.
06:11You have HDR settings.
06:13You can switch around the sizes for the photos you're taking.
06:16And then you get portrait mode, 1x, 2x, 3x.
06:20And well, you can zoom only up until 3x.
06:24You can also toggle the different aperture settings as you can see.
06:28And it changes around the blurriness of the photo.
06:32You also have filters again as well under portrait.
06:35And then you also get all these other different camera features,
06:40which includes X-Pan mode, which is very specifically hassled at.
06:58And that was our first look at the OnePlus Open.
07:19I mean, you guys know that I already like this foldy
07:23more than that other candy bar shaped foldy.
07:26But then again, I know that you guys already know I thought this
07:29because of my opinions on the Oppo Find N3.
07:33All I can say is foldable phones have definitely arrived.
07:37This right here, I feel, is the better iteration of the book type foldy.
07:41That being said, let me know what else you'd want to see me test out with this phone
07:45if you want a social media test or a camera vlog test
07:48because of course, we want to be testing out those Hasselblad cameras.
07:51Comment down below.
