00:31At the 37th Asia-Pacific Regional Conference in Sri Lanka,

00:36Agriculture Secretary Francisco T. Laurel, Jr.,

00:40proposed the Strategic Investment Plan in the sector of beef,

00:44kawayan, mango, and seaweed in the country.

00:47T. Laurel encouraged foreign investors to come to the Philippines

00:52and ask for cooperation on the modern agri-food system.

00:57He is confident that this will result in economic growth,

01:01increased jobs, and hope for our farmers.

01:06The FAO is implementing 11 projects in the Philippines

01:11that are worth $41 million.

01:14This is aimed at building a solid agricultural system

01:19that can withstand the effects of the changing times.

01:22Agriculture Secretary T. Laurel, Jr.,

01:27met Italian Minister of Agriculture Francesco Lollobrigida in Rome, Italy

01:32for the celebration of World Food Day.

01:35The bilateral meeting discussed giving jobs to Filipino fishermen.

01:42According to Italy,

01:43Filipino skilled workers will be able to contribute to the growth of the fishing industry in Europe.

01:50The DA is positive that the export of tuna,

01:55pineapple, fish, and beef products in the country

02:00will be expanded, along with the growth of the Filipino community in Italy.

02:04In 2023,

02:06the Philippine agricultural export will reach $129 million in Italy.

02:14The National Dairy Authority's target is to increase the production of milk in the Philippines by 5%

02:21within 5 years.

02:231,000 cows will be raised every year.

02:27Artificial insemination will be done

02:30to improve the breed of cows in the country

02:33that can produce more milk.

02:36Milk producers will also be taught

02:39how to raise cows properly.
