00:00We haven't seen it since 81, 78, 81.
00:07These two, you know, let's face facts, they're the greatest franchises in baseball, bar none.
00:14That's just all there is to it.
00:16All the others have won.
00:17And certainly there's titles and the San Francisco Giants, and we can go on and on the litany
00:22of teams that have won World Series.
00:25But there's no franchises like these two.
00:2822 times, I think it's 22, that the Dodgers have been to the World Series.
00:34And now, and I think that was their 25th pennant that they've been to.
00:40And then the Yankees have gone to 41 World Series and they've won 27 of them.
00:45And they haven't won one in 15 years.
00:46The last time they played the Dodgers, they lost to them in 81.
00:50And I think 78 and 81 were two of the greatest World Series I ever saw.
00:54So what do you think?
00:55You're going to Game 1 Friday night for $1,300 clams, which is a lot less money than Mafia
01:02won this weekend, but we won't talk about that on the air.
01:05We'll just leave it at that.
01:07Mafia won more money than you, with his betting prowess, than you to pay for that ticket.
01:14I'm going to have to pick more winners to pay for these trips as well.
01:18So Friday night, we're going to be in Los Angeles for Game 1 of, as you stated, it just
01:23doesn't get any more iconic than this.
01:26The two biggest brands in baseball, amongst the biggest brands in entire sports in the
01:31world.
01:33The Dodgers have always been a global team.
01:35The Yankees have always been that global.
01:38People in France, like Paris, you saw it at the Olympics.
01:41People in the stands are wearing Yankee hats, bro.
01:43They can't tell you to lie, but they're wearing Yankee hats.
01:46It's just, it's larger than life.
01:48And then when you get into a baseball perspective, and I'm a baseball, you know, I'm not Bill
01:54James here, but you know, I'm a baseball historian.
01:56I really love the history of the game and stuff.
01:59And from the rivalry in the 50s with the Dodgers and the Yankees and the Boys of Summer and
02:04Jackie Robinson and, you know, the Don Larson, the Perfect Games, so much stuff, so much
02:11stuff in history with these teams.
02:14And then as you stated, the 77-78 stuff, Reggie Jackson, the Bronx Zoo, fans running
02:19on the field, L.A. versus, you know what I mean, New York, it just, you couldn't get
02:25better.
02:26And then 81, remember, was Fernando Mania, Scott, Fernando Valenzuela was a rookie.
02:32And now you have Shoei Otani, just throw away that, think, imagine, Scott, you have Shoei
02:36Otani versus Aaron Judge in the same freaking World Series, bro.
02:41And oh yeah, and then you also have Juan Soto in here, and oh yeah, Yamamoto, and just
02:46on Mookie Betts, unbelievable stuff from the star power, the cities, the brands, I mean,
02:54it's as good as it gets, Scott, it really is.
02:56And the series is essentially, not a pick-em, but close to a pick-em.
