00:00The Dodgers are World Series champs for the eighth time in
00:09franchise history for the second time in the last five
00:11years. Alright, the COVID shortened 2020 season doesn't
00:15count. You say fine for the first time in a full season
00:18since 1988 and what happened in game number one of the 88
00:22Fall Classic? A hobbled Kirk Gibson, a walk off home run for
00:26LA. What happened in game number one of the 2024 Fall
00:30Classic? A hobbled Freddie Freeman, a walk off Grand Slam,
00:34the first ever walk off Grand Salami in the history of Major
00:38League Baseball playoff action in a World Series and Donnie
00:42when all is said and done, of course, it was Frederick to win
00:47World Series MVP. Look at the numbers for Freddie Freeman, a
00:51300 average, four home runs in the set, hitting a home run in
00:55all four of the first games of this World Series in 12 RBIs
01:01and last night when it mattered most in that wild fifth inning,
01:05the Dodgers take advantage of the Yankees miscues. It was
01:09Freddie Freeman up at the dish. A two RBI single to get the
01:14Dodgers back into it. Five to three. Thirty-three to one. The
01:18number on Freddie Freeman to win World Series MVP tied for
01:21the ninth shortest entering the Fall Classic. Why? He missed a
01:25few games in the opening two rounds with that ankle injury
01:29but when it mattered most, Freddie Freeman shines once
01:32again. It's one of those players too. Like he played a
01:35long time in Atlanta. I can't stand the Atlanta Braves but it
01:37was never like I really hate Freddie Freeman. You hated him
01:40because he was a great player but he seems like the nicest
01:42guy and the same thing with the Dodgers. How many times do you
01:44see like a performer on the biggest stage like man, I'm
01:46just getting tired of this guy hearing about him every night.
01:49Nobody got tired of Freddie Freeman because he's a great
01:51guy off the field and an unbelievable player on the
01:53field that goes from the Braves and heads over to the Dodgers
01:56in the big city and goes, you know what? I'm going to fit
01:58right in on this baseball team and the biggest moments was
02:01absolutely swinging. Let's go back to game number one. Let's
02:03just say he has a harmless 275-foot fly ball and the
02:07Yankees win that game. Who knows where we would be sitting
02:09today? Moments like that go down ingrained in history.
02:12You'll remember that Grand Slam home run the same way you
02:15would Kirk Gibson. What? 25 to 30 years previous before that
02:18in Dodgers lore. It was that big of a hit to jumpstart that
02:21series where you were looking at going down 01 and oh no, the
02:24Yankees might get some momentum. They're going to
02:26have home field advantage now to one swing of the bat saying
02:29we got this guys. Don't worry about it. Our big name
02:31performers will certainly perform like Freddie Freeman
02:33did. I was so impressed with what he did and you're right
02:35about it battling and fighting through injuries and still
02:37coming through in the biggest moments time and time again. So
02:40impressive well deserved MVP.
