00:00If you do find a young bird on the ground I know they can sometimes look
00:10very vulnerable but they don't always require a rescue. Some things that may
00:14help you indicate if the bird does require a rescue are if they're very
00:19small and they don't have any feathers, if their eyes are closed, if they're
00:24unable to stand up or if you can't locate any parent birds in the area. If
00:30the baby is very small you probably want to scoop it up into a towel and pop it
00:34into a box and then call WISE for further advice. If the baby is a little
00:39bit bigger and does have its feathers coming through and is able to walk
00:42around you might want to get through to WISE first as we might be able to guide
00:46you on how to reunite the chick to its parents in the tree.
00:55A few items to have in your car that would help you to rescue wildlife would
01:01be something like a cardboard box, some old gardening gloves, a pillowcase and
01:07also a towel.
