00:10The Addams Family with Hayards at the

00:14and you are playing Uncle Fester.
00:16Now, what's Uncle Fester
00:18all about? He's a good guy, isn't he?
00:20He is.
00:22He's very lovable, he's
00:24very caring, he's very sweet
00:26despite his
00:28unusual appearance.
00:30He is just lots and lots
00:32of fun
00:34and looks can be deceiving.
00:36He's very cute.
00:38And talking of looks,
00:40it's quite some transformation you've got
00:42to undergo. What's got to happen,
00:44unless it's giving way too much in advance?
00:46What do you subject yourself to?
00:48Yes.
00:50So I have to shave my head,
00:52hence the shortness of it
00:54at the moment, but I am gradually losing it
00:56at the same time.
00:58I have to get rid of the beards,
01:00I have to paint my face white,
01:02I have to wear
01:04a lovely fat suit.
01:06I kind of feel a bit like Mrs Doubtfire,
01:08a bit like Robin Williams when he's trying to get
01:10out of his costume
01:12and putting it back on in a hurry.
01:14So that's going to be me backstage.
01:16And yeah, my wife
01:18in fact helped me make the costume as
01:20well. And it's
01:22a very iconic look.
01:24So I think if you're going to do Fester, you have to
01:26tick all those boxes.
01:28You couldn't have a skinny Fester, unfortunately.
01:30You mentioned your wife, Rachel.
01:32Worth mentioning the fact that you're
01:34part of the Great Hales family.
01:36You met through Hales, didn't you?
01:38Yes, yes, we did.
01:40Yeah, so quite a while ago now.
01:42And
01:44yeah, I mean, never intended
01:46to meet my wife
01:48at Hales. It was always
01:50an excuse for me to
01:52keep the flame alive with performing
01:54really and make some new friends.
01:56And just by happy coincidence,
01:58yeah, I kind of
02:00met my soulmate really.
02:02And we've been doing Hales shows ever
02:04since. And she choreographs occasionally
02:06and loves to dance.
02:08And she's done
02:10main parts as well before.
02:12And yeah, I get to be
02:14the comic idiot basically in
02:16these shows and don weird
02:18moustaches and wigs
02:20and unusual things that
02:22probably not a lot of husbands would do.
02:24Oh, we do, yeah.
02:26And I think she secretly does as well, yeah.
02:28Although she does roll her eyes sometimes
02:30and goes, oh, who are you doing this time?
02:32Well, that's success, isn't it?
