(Adnkronos) - “I dati emersi dal rapporto del ministero della Salute indicano che lo screening, pur nelle sue difficoltà, è riuscito a rintracciare più di 10mila persone. Gli ultimissimi dati, addirittura, parlano di 13mila persone in Italia che hanno trovato la positività nello screening e sanno di avere l'epatite C, così da poter essere curati. Il 50% di queste persone hanno già iniziato il trattamento, quindi è un successo, certamente, che ci deve spingere a continuare su questa strada”. Così, Massimo Andreoni, direttore scientifico Simit, Società italiana di malattie infettive e tropicali, in occasione dell’evento “Epatite C: obiettivo eliminazione, il momento è adesso. Strategie e modelli organizzativi per riscrivere la storia delle epatiti virali”, che si è svolto a Roma.
