The Washington Post's Neil Greenberg lays out why his numbers predict the Commanders as an 11-win team!
Transcript
00:00Alright, we're talking with our friend Neil Greenberg from the Washington Post.
00:02You can give him a follow at N Greenberg.
00:05You have updated, every week you do this, but I think you updated it this morning if
00:09I'm correct, playoff projections for every team in the NFL.
00:16And on top of that, you've kind of adjusted what is a reasonable win total, what you expect
00:21them to land at.
00:23Get us up to speed with your commander's projections.
00:27So I have commanders now as a three points per game better than an average team.
00:33That puts them 10th in the NFL, and I have them winning 11 games this year, which is
00:38nuts.
00:39It's silly, considering it's almost double their win total preseason in terms of the
00:47betting markets.
00:49But they're 5-2, and the rest of the division isn't that great.
00:56The quarterback position in terms of Jaden Daniels' injury situation is something to
01:00monitor and could drastically change these projections.
01:05But I think right now, with five wins already banked, and I don't think they have one of
01:11the more difficult schedules going forward, it certainly looks like they are in the driver's
01:17seat to win the division at the very least.
01:20But I think a double-digit win season is well within reach.
01:25Have they impressed you more than you ever thought or could have imagined?
01:30I mean...
01:31Didn't you have a ticket on them to win 11?
01:35In terms of getting over seven wins, I did not think that they would be contending for
01:40the division this early in the season and this significantly, right?
01:46Like, you know, I just didn't think that it was possible to get to this point.
01:52But Dallas, in particular, being as underwhelming as they are this year, I think was what unlocked
01:59the whole thing.
02:00And if not for preseason expectations for Philadelphia, I think the outlook for Washington
02:07would be even more optimistic.
02:10But because Philadelphia was considered to be such a strong Super Bowl contender preseason,
02:15that's still going to be baked into a lot of the power rankings that are based on analytics.
02:22But yeah, I mean, it's a remarkable season for so much change everywhere in the organization.
02:31But you know, it was a possibility and we're seeing that possibility kind of play out in
02:36front of us.
