00:00Please welcome Randall Park to the stage.
00:07All right.
00:16It is such an honor to be here to celebrate my dear friend Ken Jeong.
00:22Now, as we all know, he's brought so much joy into our lives through his work as a comedian
00:29and actor and an all-around entertainer, but one thing we often forget is how much
00:35he got paid to bring us that joy.
00:39I'm just saying it's not as selfless as it sounds.
00:43But we all know Ken for being an icon in the entertainment industry, but what some of you
00:48may not know is how caring a person he is.
00:51One thing he really holds near and dear to his heart is community.
00:58I'm not talking about Asian-Americans, I'm talking about the TV show community.
01:04Because again, they paid him a lot of money.
01:09In all seriousness, Ken does really care deeply for his AAPI community.
01:14What a lot of people don't know is how much of an incredible supporter he is of young
01:20Asian-American artists and filmmakers.
01:23Ken also loves his comedy community, his medical community, he loves his country, he loves
01:27his city, he loves his beautiful family who are here today.
01:31Give it up for his family.
01:35But the reason why I love Ken so much is because he's also a great friend.
01:40There's so many stories I could tell, but here's one that encapsulates who Ken is.
01:45My daughter Ruby is on the autism spectrum, and because of that I'm deeply invested in
01:50causes that will make the world a better place for her.
01:54So I'm on the board of an amazing charity organization called Culture City.
01:59Give it up for Culture City.
02:01Culture City works towards acceptance and inclusion for those with sensory needs.
02:06And just from sharing my story and the stories of others with Ken, he was so moved that he
02:12wanted to be a part of it.
02:14The first thing he said, I remember with tears in his eyes, was, how much does it pay?
02:25I said nothing, Ken, it's a charity.
02:29Anyway, Ken ended up joining the board and he's dedicated so much of his time and energy
02:34into Culture City, even though it's a cause that doesn't necessarily affect him directly.
02:38But that's who Ken is.
02:40He has the biggest heart.
02:42He's always been there for me in my times of need.
02:45And he truly does bring me so much joy.
02:47So while I'm honored to celebrate him and this crowning achievement today, I'm even
02:52more honored to call him my friend.
02:55So congratulations, Ken.
02:57I love you, man.
02:58Oh, man, thank you.
02:59Thank you, man.
03:00Thank you so much.
03:01Love you, man.
03:03Thank you so much.
03:04Love you, man.
