00:00MAGPET, LGU, and DSWD Region 12 have already sent their assistance to the residents affected by the taste of Magyong Kristin.
00:09The details are reported by Aurea Marie Belguera of the Philippine Information Agency, SOCSARGEN.
00:16123 families in Barangay Bantak Magpet, Cotabato, from the LGU and Department of Social Welfare and Development Region 12 have received assistance from Food and Non-Food Items.
00:32According to the local government of Magpet, the heavy rainfall of Magyong Kristin caused damage to the dike, which is also the reason for the heavy flooding that affected the nearby houses and a bridge in the area.
00:4587 houses were damaged and 36 houses were left destroyed.
00:52I just want to call on the residents of the area. The residents of the area are very supportive of us. They are taking great risks to help us. Thank you. Thank you to the government that helped us.
01:12Individuals were evacuated to various places, including the Barangay Evacuation Center, a multi-purpose building, an outpost of a church, and regional evacuation centers.
01:23The State of Calamity declared the town as a state of emergency due to the heavy rainfall.
01:27Mayor J. Lorenz Gonzaga assured that he will continue to distribute assistance to the affected residents and assured that the residents of the area will receive cash assistance.
01:39Actually, we were initially relieved right after the flood. We had a second chance the next day.
01:47We were able to provide cash assistance to the houses that were destroyed, especially the houses that were totally damaged because their houses were flooded.
