00:25After the onslaught of Tropical Storm Christine in some parts of the country,
00:29the roads in the province of Batangas had to be closed to traffic.
00:33Like the bypass road of Barangay Malinis in the town of Lemery,
00:37where the road turned into a parking lot for a tanker truck.
00:41Even motorcycles had difficulty passing through.
00:44Yesterday, when I arrived here, it was already raining.
00:49There was a bit of a fear that we would get flooded here.
00:56Besides this, electricity and connectivity were also a challenge to the residents of Batangas.
01:02Like in Agoncillo, the residents flocked to their municipal hall to recharge their gadgets.
01:09We recharge our cell phones, power banks, lights, and electric fans that are small.
01:17Some residents working from home stayed outside the municipal hall
01:22and waited diligently just to be present for work.
01:25I'm still a new employee, so I still need goods for my attendance.
01:30Because I might not be regular if I don't continue here.
01:34The local government of Agoncillo confirmed nine deaths of residents
01:39due to Typhoon Christine.
01:40Two unconfirmed casualties and seven missing persons.
01:45Meanwhile, the Department of Social Welfare and Development, or DSWD,
01:49assured the families severely affected by the Typhoon Christine
01:53will get aid under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations programs, or AICS.

02:04The provincial government of Batangas is speeding up the road clearing operation
02:08to ensure the delivery of the social services and assistance
02:12coming from the national government will not be hampered.
