00:00Thanks for joining us.
00:05Clamor for Dr. Chivago because they know he'll be on on Fridays on coast to coast from Sports
00:10Injury Central in So Cali Cal it's Dr. David Chow, the legend himself.
00:17And you can follow him on X at pro football dog.
00:20He's very popular both on C2C and globally and on social media.
00:26And it's easy to see why.
00:27Good to see you, Doc.
00:29Let's start with Jaden Daniels.
00:30There's no way he's playing in that football game.
00:33I agree with you.
00:35He's LP today and listed officially as questionable.
00:39But there's five reasons he's not playing.
00:42First of all, rib cartilage is more painful and harder to block.
00:47Number two, they're not going to risk him being a half step slow and get hurt in a different
00:52way.
00:53Remember Dan Quinn telling him to slide in the preseason.
00:57Number three, you don't put a rookie quarterback in who basically hasn't practiced all week.
01:01This is not Tom Brady.
01:03This is not Patrick Mahomes.
01:05Number four, the media says the first pick Caleb Williams against second pick Jane Daniels.
01:11Big game.
01:12No one in the Washington Commanders building cares about that quote matchup.
01:16That's a media made fan made deal.
01:18And finally, I guarantee you this, Scott, a number two overall draft pick quarterback
01:24will start for the Washington Commanders.
01:27And that will be Marcus Mariota.
01:29Yeah.
01:30And he'll be running for his life against that Bears defense.
01:32I've had broken ribs.
01:34I've had torn cartilage in my ribs.
01:37And I got to tell you, it is the worst.
01:40I mean, I couldn't get out of a car.
01:43I couldn't get out of bed.
01:44I couldn't get out of a sofa.
01:45I couldn't get out of anything.
01:47It is the most agonizing.
01:49And if, oh, if you had a cough, if you got a cold or a cough with a torn cartilage and
01:55you had to cough every 30 seconds, you'd want to jump off a bridge.
02:00It is the worst.
02:01Let's talk about Tua.
02:02He's going back to play with multiple concussions.
02:06Don't tell me this isn't dangerous.
02:08You have to be worried for this kid's life.
02:12Well, there's no question the collision sport of football is dangerous and is dangerous
02:17to everyone who plays at that high level.
02:21You know, he's passed the protocol.
02:24He's gotten clearance from different neurologists.
02:26Is his risk higher than someone else who's never had a concussion?
02:31I believe it is.
02:33Is it unacceptable risk?
02:35I mean, it's his decision and his thought process, you know, and I get the lay person
02:42who says I've seen him twice on national TV games posturing, but that posturing or
02:49fencing doesn't necessarily mean permanent damage.
02:53And look, there are players in the NFL still playing that have had more concussions than
02:57Tua and they've been cleared to return.
02:59I'm not saying it's right.
03:00I'm just saying he's not the biggest poster child for concussions.
03:05He's not wearing the guardian cap, but I hear he's wearing like the most sophisticated helmet
03:09money can buy.
03:12Well, sure.
03:13But the guardian cap, you know, I thought he would wear it.
03:15He's not required to.
03:16He's not going to wear it.
03:17Guardian cap is not foolproof.
03:19But you understand there, Scott, that helmets were never invented to prevent concussions.
03:26Helmets were invented to prevent skull fractures, and they do a great job of that back in the
03:30day.
03:31And that's what started in college, the harder helmets.
03:35But no concussion can be no helmet can prevent all concussions.
03:40So Hill was on the injury report, Waddles limited, who's he going to throw it to?
03:48Both of them.
03:49Are you kidding?
03:50They're chomping at the bit to come back.
03:51Waddle with the quad and Tyree Kill with the foot.
03:54They said, we've been through four games of all these other guys.
03:57We can't wait to get out there just to post for Tua.
04:01So what's the deal with Devo?
04:03He ended up in the hospital with pneumonia.
04:08I mean, when's the last time we saw a player not finish a game due to illness?
04:12We saw that with Devo.
04:13When's the last time we saw a player go to the hospital for pneumonia with fluid on the
04:17lungs?
04:18We saw it with Devo.
04:19He's trending towards an LP and questionable.
04:22I think he's probably going to play, but he's not going to play 70 snaps.
04:27Are you kidding me?
04:28Some guy with pneumonia is going to play?
04:29That's crazy.
04:30How long is Evans out?
04:31We know Godwin's finished.
04:34Yeah, multiple weeks.
04:38You know, four weeks, something like that.
04:42Aaron Rodgers has been stacking injuries.
04:46It's like one problem after the next.
04:47Then again, he's old.
04:50Yeah.
04:51I mean, as we say, it's like the song, head, shoulders, knees, and toes.
04:55No, actually, it's hamstring, knee, and ankle for Aaron Rodgers.
04:59He's old.
05:00He's going to play through.
05:01He's got a strong arm.
05:02He's an off-platform thrower.
05:04He doesn't run that much anymore.
05:06There's no injury designation.
05:08He will play versus the Patriots, but yeah, it's the game of football.
05:12He's got a lot of things.
05:14Travis Etienne, his sixth score is 55, so is that a no-go for him?
05:20We lean towards no-go, and we lean towards not fully effective if he goes, but the left
05:25tackle for the Jags has been cleared and back, so at least some upside for them.
05:30What about DK in Seattle with that knee?
05:37His list is doubtful.
05:38It's a mild MCL.
05:39Remember, he was carted off.
05:41It's not an IR thing.
05:43It's not a four-week thing.
05:44This week doesn't look like it's going to happen, but next week is a real possibility
05:50for the Seattle wide receiver.
05:52What about Dalton and his thumb after the car crash?
05:57I don't think that's that bad of a deal.
05:59It's not a 10-ligament tear.
06:01It's not surgery.
06:02I don't know if it was the airbag or got caught in the steering wheel.
06:05He was with his family when it happened.
06:07I look at this as kind of hiding behind health.
06:09Look, Deontay Johnson is probably out because he's going to be traded, right?
06:14Caroline is not winning.
06:15They're maybe featuring Bryce Young for a trade.
06:19This is a little bit hiding behind health.
06:21This is like a chance for Dalton to sit, a chance to showcase Young prior to the trade
06:27deadline, and for the same reason they're sitting Deontay Johnson.
06:31He's a pending trade target.
06:33It's not his ankle injury.
06:34What's the deal with the Packers?
06:36They got a ton of guys banged up.
06:38What's their health status of this team?
06:42They're actually not that bad.
06:43The Packers have become the new Patriots in this world.
06:46Remember, Patriots used to list dozens of players as questionable.
06:50That's been the Packers' modus this season, so the list is longer than the actual injuries.
06:55All right, there he is, the one and only, just top shelf status, Dr. Chevago, dealing
07:03with injuries for you, the fans, on Coast to Coast on a pain-free Friday.
07:07Dr. Chev, have a great weekend in SoCal.
07:10Try not to surf too much or go to the track too much, and screw the Dodgers.
07:15I just wanted to say that lastly to you.
07:18We're in our stuff this weekend.
