00:00We're gonna focus back on the NFL now.
00:06We've got a few pretty sizable injuries
00:09that we have to monitor, but Dr. Chow,
00:13Dr. David Chow is here to maybe quell some of your fears.
00:17We'll start off with his thoughts
00:18on Christian McCaffrey's leg injury at the moment.
00:22How worried should we be about Christian McCaffrey
00:25and his calf injury for the 49ers?
00:28Yes, calf injuries linger.
00:30This is why the 49ers shut CMC down
00:33for all of the preseason.
00:35We actually anticipate this to be a minor issue.
00:38He had a calf strain last season, missed two games.
00:42Minimal time here, a six score,
00:45relatively high of 92 out of 100 for him at SICscore.com.
00:52Niners favored taking on the Jets on Monday night,
00:55so we'll see how that goes.
00:56Christian McCaffrey's current rushing prop, 75 and a half,
01:00the combined rushing and receiving prop at 115 and a half.
01:03So keep in mind that he doesn't seem concerned,
01:07but going up against the Jets with that concern
01:12might shade you to the under.
01:13So let's talk about Justin Herbert,
01:16been dealing with some bumps and bruises during camp.
01:19Here's Dr. David Chow once again,
01:21a former orthopedic surgeon for the Chargers,
01:24talking about Justin Herbert.
01:25We said all along that Justin Herbert will play week one.
01:29He's going to play week one.
01:31He's not gonna miss any game time
01:33as a result of the plantar fasciitis.
01:36It can be injected, it can be managed.
01:38The problem is that it can linger
01:41and affect practice time during the week.
01:43Yes, he's lost some practice time
01:46to get with his young receivers,
01:47but he was around all off season.
01:50So really minimum worry here for Jim Harbaugh
01:54and his quarterback, Justin Herbert,
01:55as they launch a new era for the Chargers.
01:58Full steam ahead, he won't miss any playing time.
02:02It's a matter of getting used to the new system.
02:05Chargers, a field goal favorite against the Raiders
02:08at 4.05 Eastern on Sunday.
02:12Kind of like the Chargers in that one.
02:14I think Justin Herbert's passing prop,
02:17just at 223 and a half, I think that's a function,
02:21not really so much of the injury,
02:22but of the style of play that's anticipated.
02:25Jim Harbaugh utilizing that huge offensive line
02:28led by new draft pick, Joe Alt, Rashawn Slater,
02:32Zion Johnson, they've used three first round draft picks
02:34to fix that offensive line,
02:36and now they have a hell of a unit there
02:38to block for Justin Herbert and get some guys loose.
02:41So next injury is Anthony Richardson.
02:44He's obviously the most serious,
02:46dealing with surgery in the off season.
02:48Here's Dr. Chown, Anthony Richards,
02:51excuse me, Anthony Richardson's chances
02:53of being healthy going into week one.
02:54We really have very little worry
02:56about his growing shoulder and the surgery.
02:59It was an AC joint separation, surgery with good results,
03:04very little worry about his shoulder.
03:06We do have significant worry at Sports Injury Central
03:10if he continues to run the ball as often as he did.
03:13In four games, he took several big shots last year.
03:16The risk is with how much he runs
03:18and when he gets hit when he runs.
03:20The shoulder, we're not worried about.
03:23High six score of 91 for Colts quarterback,
03:26Anthony Richardson.
03:29All right, so good news for Colts fans.
03:31They are two and a half point home divisional dogs,
03:34typically a profitable position to be in.
03:37His rushing prop at 43 and a half,
03:40passing prop at 223 and a half, something to consider.
03:44He's a huge athlete.
03:45I think the people are very bullish on him.
03:47I, like Dr. Chow, though, am concerned
03:50if he continues to take shots on his shoulder.
03:52Look for Shane Steichen to start to try to utilize
03:55the brotherly shove that he utilized
03:56for Jalen Hurts in Philly.
03:58I think he'll utilize that with Anthony Richardson
04:00as well as he racks up some rushing touchdowns
04:03and some key first downs this season.
04:05And finally, we go to the last one on Dr. Chow.
04:08Jameer Gibbs, maybe not getting a full load of carries
04:13this weekend in week one.
04:15The Lions running back has had history
04:18of hamstring issues, training camp,
04:20another hamstring issue, but good news back at practice.
04:24We don't anticipate that he'll miss week one.
04:27He's going to play, head coach has indicated that,
04:31but his usage may be down.
04:32He's missed several weeks of training camp.
04:35The Lions also have David Montgomery,
04:37so expect him to be healthy,
04:39but in terms of the share of the snaps,
04:41it may favor Montgomery more than Gibbs,
04:44at least in week one.
04:46But the good news is no real health worry for Jamar Gibbs,
04:49but there will be some ramp up
04:51to full utilization for the Lions.
04:53This is Dr. David Chow.
04:54Go to SICscore.com for the latest.
04:58There you go.

05:10against the Rams.
