00:00I'm not going to comment on the budget ahead of it being announced by the Chancellor on Wednesday.
00:03People don't have long to wait to find out the details.
00:06What we've said in our manifesto is a very specific and clear commitment to working people,
00:11not to increase taxes in the form of income tax, VAT or national insurance on them.
00:16And the budget more broadly is about restoring economic stability,
00:20creating the conditions for investment so that we can start to fix the foundations
00:24and deliver for working people who've been affected, as you rightly say,
00:27by a squeeze on their living standards in recent years.
00:29We won't be breaking our manifesto pledge.
00:31It was a very specific pledge not to increase income tax,
00:34national insurance or VAT on working people.
00:38That pledge will be honoured in the budget on Wednesday.
