Harris calls Trump ‘increasingly unhinged’ at Michigan rally

US Vice President and Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris called Donald Trump ‘increasingly unhinged’ at a rally in Kalamazoo, Michigan on Saturday, October 26.

"Over the last eight years, Donald Trump has become more confused, more unstable and more angry, and it is clear he has become increasingly unhinged. But the last time, at least there were people who could control him, but notice they're not with him this time," Harris said.

In Michigan, Harris and Trump are battling for voters that include an Arab American and Muslim population concerned about Israel's bombardment of Gaza, and union workers worried about how electric vehicles could reshape the US auto industry, which is headquartered in Detroit, the state's largest city.

In the southern Michigan city of Kalamazoo, about 130 miles (210 km) away, Harris drew contrasts between her and Trump on issues such as abortion rights, taxes and healthcare.

00:00And we understand the opportunity we have before us to turn the page on the fear...
00:30Thank you all. And listen, on the topic of Gaza, we must end that war.
00:42And we must end the war and bring the hostages home.
00:46But now I am speaking about 2024. All right.
00:51And you know, Donald Trump still refuses to even acknowledge the pain and suffering he has caused.
00:58He insists that, and I'm going to quote, everybody wanted Roe v. Wade to be overturned.
01:05Come on. Everybody wanted this?
01:08Women are being denied care during miscarriages?
01:11Some only being treated once they developed sepsis?
01:15They didn't want this?
01:17How could anybody say that they wanted this?
01:22And you have heard me say, I do believe Donald Trump to be an unserious man.
01:31But the consequences of him ever being president again are brutally serious.
01:39Brutally serious.
01:45All of these things are at stake.
01:49And generations of Americans before us led the fight for freedom.
01:55And now the baton is in our hands.
01:58Now the baton is in our hands.
02:02And on that point, I want to speak in particular to all of the young leaders who are here today.
02:08Can I see Gen Z?
02:22I love you guys.
02:24I love you.
02:26Let me tell you.
02:28See?
02:31And of the many things that I just think are so great about you,
02:36you are rightly impatient for change.
02:41I love that.
02:43I love that.
02:46Because over the last eight years, Donald Trump has become more confused,
02:53more unstable,
02:56and more angry.
02:59And it is clear he has become increasingly unhinged.
03:06But the last time, at least there were people who could control him.
03:11But notice, they're not with him this time.
03:15And then a few months ago, the Supreme Court told the former president
03:20he is effectively immune no matter what he does in the White House.
03:27It's not 2016 or 2020 when you think about that.
03:31Because just imagine Donald Trump with no guardrails.
03:36And when we fight, we win!
03:40God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.
