Harris mocks Trump for being 'too exhausted' for debates and interviews at Michigan rally

US Vice President and Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris mocked Donald Trump during a rally event in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Oct. 18, 2024 for ducking debates and cancelling interviews because of what his campaign team has said was because he was 'exhausted.' Michigan has about 8.4 million voters and would bring the winner 15 Electoral College votes out of the 270 needed to win, which in several scenarios would be a decisive number.

00:00All right, so we got work to do.
00:0318 days.
00:0518 days left in one of the most consequential elections
00:11of our lifetime.
00:13And as you know, everyone here knows,
00:15this election is truly about two very different visions
00:21for our nation.
00:22Ours that is focused on the future.
00:27Donald Trump's that is focused on the past.
00:31Ours that is focused on bringing down
00:33the cost of living for working families,
00:36investing in small businesses and entrepreneurs.
00:39Ours that is about protecting reproductive freedom.
00:46He has no plan for how he would address
00:49the needs of the American people.
00:51And he is, as we have seen, only focused on himself.
00:56And now, he is ducking debates and canceling interviews.
01:03Come on.
01:07And check this out, his own campaign team
01:10recently said it is because of exhaustion.
01:17Well, if you are exhausted on the campaign trail,
01:20it raises real questions about whether you
01:22are fit for the toughest job in the world.
01:27Come on.
01:29Come on.
01:31And Michigan, I know I'm going to tell you
01:33what you already know, but let us
01:35be clear for folks who are watching
01:37from different parts of the country.
01:39Contrary to what my opponent is suggesting,
01:42I will never tell you what kind of car you have to drive,
01:45but here is what I will do.
01:47I will invest in manufacturing communities like Kent County.
01:56Together, we will retool existing factories,
02:00hire locally, and work with unions
02:03to create good paying jobs, including jobs that do not
02:13require a college degree.
02:15Because here's where I come from.
02:17I know a college degree is not the only measure
02:20of the skills and experience of a qualified worker.
02:27Many of you may have heard me say,
02:29I do believe that Donald Trump is an unserious man.
02:34And the consequences of him ever getting back
02:40into the White House are brutally serious.
02:43Brutally serious.
02:44So on that point about concepts of a plan, it's funny.
02:48We thought it was ridiculously hilarious
02:51when we first heard it.
02:54But here's the thing about that.
02:55He is basically going to threaten the health
02:58insurance of 45 million people based on a concept.
03:02And when we fight, we win.
03:05God bless you, and God bless the United States of America.
03:09And God bless the United States of America.
