00:00Police have opened an investigation into the waving of foreign flags at another international
00:07cultural event in Sentosa, Johor Bahru.
00:10Johor Bahru's Selatan Police Chief, Raup Selamat, said they received a video depicting
00:15individuals waving the flags of several foreign countries, with the report lodged at 3pm yesterday.
00:22The case is being investigated under Section 3 Sub 1 of the National Emblems Control of
00:27Display Act for the display of national emblems in public, Section 505 Sub B of the Penal
00:32Code for statements that incite public disorder, and Section 233 of the Communications and
00:38Multimedia Act for improper use of network facilities.
00:42The event organizers will also be summoned to assist in the investigation, Berita Harian
00:47reported.
00:48Police are also investigating a similar event organized by the Guangong Cultural Association
00:53in Tolointan, Perak, which sparked controversy over the waving of China's flag at a parade.
01:00The Guangong Cultural Association has since apologized and said the flags were displayed
01:04by Chinese nationals attending the festival and had not been planned by the organizers.
