00:15Update on the Sandro Mula case, rape and acts of lasciviousness charges have been filed
00:19against two GMA-independent contractors.
00:22At least 145 people were reportedly killed due to the combined effects of Severe Tropical
00:26Storm Christine and Super Typhoon Leon.
00:29The Commission on Human Rights says it does not have full access to data on Rodrigo Duterte's
00:33drug war due to a Marcus policy.
00:36And Kamala Harris warns her unstable opponent Donald Trump seeks unchecked power.
00:43The Justice Department files rape and acts of lasciviousness charges before a Pasay court
00:48against independent GMA contractors Giorgio Nones and Richard Cruz in relation to the
00:52Sandro Mula case.
00:54The DOJ says Mula was able to explain in detail what the two independent contractors allegedly
00:59did to him.
01:00The DOJ also affirms all the elements of sexual assault are present in Mula's testimony.
01:05There was also the element of force and intimidation as Mula proved to prosecutors he resisted
01:09Nones and Cruz's unwanted sexual advances.
01:12Mula's sexual assault claims were first publicized in late July when it was reported that a young
01:17actor was allegedly sexually assaulted after the GMA gala by two GMA executives.
01:22Mula filed a sexual molestation complaint with the National Bureau of Investigation
01:26on August 2.
01:27Mula is a SPARQL artist signed under GMA.
01:32The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council says at least 145 people were killed
01:38due to the combined effects of severe tropical storm Christine and Super Typhoon Leon.
01:43But only 14 of these deaths have been validated so far.
01:46The calamity displaced over 761,000 people with 115 people reportedly injured while 37
01:53remain missing.
01:54Christine has affected at least 7 million Filipinos across 17 regions in the country.
02:00Bicol's agriculture sector lost at least Php 2.1 billion with Camarinas sewer suffering
02:04the most.
02:05Prior to landfall, Christine ravaged the Bicol region, inundating roads, damaging crops and
02:10overwhelming rescuers.
02:12Leon has not made landfall in the Philippines, but authorities aren't yet ruling out possible
02:16landfall in Batanes.
02:20The Commission on Human Rights does not have full access to data on former President Rodrigo
02:24Duterte's drug war for the last eight years.
02:27CHR Chair Richard Palpalatok says the police refused to cooperate and declined to give
02:31documents.
02:33The police justify withholding documents using the Marcos administration's list of exceptions
02:38released by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
02:41The list qualifies former President Rodrigo Duterte's Executive Order No. 2 or Freedom
02:45of Information or FOI policy in 2016.
02:49EO No. 2 mandates all agencies must be transparent and release documents and other information
02:54to the public.
02:55Bersamin's list negates EO No. 2's intent.
02:58The EO is now being challenged before the Supreme Court as it was used to justify secrecy
03:02in the use of confidential funds.
03:07Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris warns her Republican opponent Donald Trump
03:12is seeking unchecked power as the race for the presidency enters its final week.
03:17Harris says this at a rally in Washington, D.C., at the exact place where Trump addressed
03:21his supporters on January 6, 2021, before the attack the U.S. Capitol.
03:26This is someone who is unstable, obsessed with revenge, consumed with grievance, and
03:35out for unchecked power.
03:38Harris has led Trump in every Reuters-Ipsos poll since she entered the race in July, but
03:42her advantage has steadily shrunk since late September.
03:45Trump and his allies have sought to play down the violence of January 6.
03:49Four people died in the riot, including one police officer, who died defending the Capitol.
03:54Trump has said that if re-elected, he would pardon the more than 1,500 participants who
03:58have been charged with crimes.
