00:00Emergency services were called to a home in Reid Street in South Morang, which is about
00:0720 kilometres northeast of Melbourne's CBD, around 10 o'clock yesterday morning.
00:13Homicide squad detectives have arrested a 33-year-old man, also from South Morang, and
00:20taken him into custody for questioning.
00:23Nikita Azipati's grief-stricken brother, Sean, says that the man had been dating his
00:29sister. The family had become concerned for her when she failed to turn up to a family
00:35barbecue on Saturday, and also failed to respond to repeated texts. He says his family is still
00:42struggling to come to terms with her death.
00:45She'll do anything for anyone. She's a gentle soul. She'll help anyone. She always is a
00:50good listener. I've told her many, many things. She was an earpiece for me, and she was my
00:56younger sister as well, only 35. Yeah, and she just didn't see the bad in people, always
01:04saw the good, and that's it. Yeah, so, yeah, I'm going to miss her. It just feels like
01:15a dream, to be honest. It doesn't feel real.
01:18He says that the last time that he saw his sister alive was not that long ago when she
01:24organised a go-kart outing for his son's 15th birthday, and he says looking back on
01:30that, if only he knew that that was the last time he would see her, he would have probably
01:35spoken to her longer, asked her more questions, and taken more photos. He says that he's trying
01:42to stay strong for his family, but he doesn't know how his parents and his brothers as well
01:49are going to cope, and he says that this all feels like a very bad dream. The homicide
01:54squad says the investigation remains ongoing, and the exact circumstances surrounding her
02:01death are yet to be determined.
