Police in Western Australia are investigating a suspected family violence homicide in Perth’s northern suburbs.

00:00So, it was just after 6am when residents were woken by sirens and police came to find a
00:07woman in her 50s and a man in his 70s with serious injuries, the scene behind me here.
00:12The man in his 70s died at the scene, the woman was being treated in hospital, had been
00:18reported earlier that the man died in hospital but we've been since told that he died here
00:22at the scene.
00:23A man in his 30s has been taken into custody and is assisting the homicide squad with their
00:29inquiries.
00:30We spoke to some residents about what they might have heard or might have seen, this
00:33is what one local resident had to say.
00:35It's a good community, very quiet, a lot of young children, a lot of professionals, very
00:43very nice community.
00:45We've got obviously a Facebook page and everybody looks after everybody so it's very disturbing
00:51to hear such news.
00:55We also spoke to a woman who said that she didn't want to be identified but she said
00:59when she walked past the house with the children, the older man was very friendly, used to wave
01:03at them.
01:04Police are asking for anyone with any information or any dash cam footage or CCTV, particularly
01:09for the time period between 5.30am and 6.30am this morning here in Clarkson, to contact
01:14them.
