00:00Hi there, it's John Blow from the Yorkshire Post here. I'm going to take you through what's
00:03coming up in the week ahead. First of all, Guy Fawkes Night, known commonly as Bonfire
00:08Night, takes place tomorrow. And though most organised festivities will have happened on
00:13Saturday, many are also due to put on private displays at home tomorrow night. The date
00:19maps the failure of the gunpowder plot in 1605, when 36 barrels of gunpowder were discovered
00:25hidden behind a pile of firewood in a storeroom beneath the Palace of Westminster. Also tomorrow,
00:32the US election gets underway and voters there will choose between Democratic candidate Kamala
00:36Harris, who would become the country's first woman president, or a return to the White
00:41House for Republican contender Donald Trump. Polls have suggested that it's a very close
00:46race. And at the weekend, communities across Yorkshire and the nation will gather for Remembrance
00:52Sunday to pay their respects to those who have died in war and the people who still
00:56serve today. There will be a two minute silence at 11am as people head to the local war memorials
01:03for tributes, which are usually organised by members of the Royal British Legion.
