00:00Freedom from violence and strife caused by rebellion is something that many areas in the Davao region value and cherish.
00:08Hopefully, with the help of the livelihood programs of the Department of Labor and Employment in Region 11,
00:14these places remain insurgency-free.
00:17Philippine Information Agency Davao Region's Rudolf Alama has more.
00:23The Department of Labor and Employment 11 is fully supporting efforts to sustain Davao Region's insurgency-free status.
00:30During the October 28 ceremony marking the second year of the Insurgency-Free Status Declaration in Davao Region,
00:37Atty. Randolph Pensoy, Dole 11 Regional Director, said they have laid out several programs in Davao Region
00:43to provide sustainable livelihood to former rebels who want to live in peace.
00:47We have programs to provide livelihood to our friends, relatives, and neighbors.
00:55For Sustainable Livelihood Assistance, Regional Director Pensoy said its benefits are given either to associations or to individuals.
01:02This is a livelihood program that can be given to an association or an individual.
01:08But we also have a program to provide livelihood to the people of Davao Oriental, which was provided by Dole.
01:16Other Dole programs include the Emergency Employment and the Tupad, or the Tulong Panghanap Buhay sa Ating Disadvantage or Displaced Workers.
01:24Another form of assistance is the Government Internship Program or the GIP.
01:28We also have River Returnees who became GIPs in our Dioro,
01:33which is part of our program where they can join the government employment.
