00:00The Department of Social and Welfare Development or DSWD will receive an additional five billion
00:06pesos for its assistance to individuals in crisis situations or AECS program to support communities
00:14affected by recent typhoons and disasters, the Philippine News Agency reported. The Department
00:20of Budget and Management approved the release of the special allotment release order and the
00:26corresponding notice of cash allocation for the AECS program on November 15. The AECS program is
00:34vital part of DSWD's services offering medical, burial, transportation, education, food assistance
00:43and financial aid for urgent needs of individuals and families facing crisis. Additional funds come
00:50from the 2024 General Appropriation Act and programmed appropriations
00:56allowing for social aid and infrastructure if there are surplus revenues.
