00:00Michael, is that you? Of course it is. He's bobbling his head, yes.
00:04Here's your spooky spot on the Royal Bobble's John Carpenter's Halloween,
00:07young Michael Myers.
00:30Royal Bobble's takes it back to the night it started,
00:36with his bobble head featuring a young Michael Myers wearing a clown costume
00:40and holding a knife,
00:41with a glow-in-the-dark pumpkin sitting next to him. That's the last time I
00:45babysit a bobble head.
00:46How about before we take a ghoulish gander to the Royal Bobble's young Michael
00:49Myers,
00:50we grab first the tape measure and we see how tall it actually stands.
00:53While I'm doing this as well, I'd like to thank the folks over at Royal Bobble's that
00:56provided this sample we could have a look at.
00:58Young Michael Myers is going to stand just short of six inches in height,
01:02or the boy with the simply evil eyes is going to be about 15 centimeters tall.
01:06Well, at least he grows up not being evil, right? No, that's not the case.
01:10Bringing the other Royal Bobble's Michael Myers that we've already had a look at in
01:12no particular order, here's what young Michael Myers looks like with Michael
01:16Myers behind the sheet.
01:17Here's also what Michael Myers looks like along with Michael Myers with the
01:20bush,
01:21and of course here's young M.M. with older M.M. behind the railing.
01:25Slightly smaller and a little bit more in scale size bobblehead.
01:28Here's also what it looks like with the mascot from Halloween, Sam.
01:32Two things that are cool about this bobblehead is first that we get a young
01:35Michael Myers,
01:36but the second is that the jack-o-lantern that comes with him does glow in the
01:39dark. I'm going to pick this up right now,
01:41at least I'm going to bring in my black lights just to illuminate across the
01:44front of this. You can see the eyes, the familiar nose,
01:48and of course the mouth below that all glow in the dark.
01:51Moving it just away enough with the absorbed light that it has,
01:54you can see it does glow nicely. Nothing really else glows on Michael Myers.
01:58I don't think it necessarily needs to either. I will say though,
02:02one thing I do wish that this Michael Myers would have had is not necessarily
02:05removable mask because I know that Royal Baubles isn't going to do that,
02:08especially for the nature of this being a resin piece.
02:10Having then a removable resin mask would be a big no-no.
02:14Having this though being Michael Myers as the reveal at the beginning of the
02:17movie when his parents first arrived home,
02:19not realizing right away that he butchered his sister up in the top room.
02:23His mask would have been off.
02:25So why they have chose to sculpt the mask on his face kind of seems baffling to
02:29me. I would have again preferred if the mask was completely off or maybe if it
02:32was on the top of his head and revealed the shock look on his face.
02:35But we get instead though, and it may have had maybe something to do with
02:38licensing. I'm not really sure, but we get the clown mask instead.
02:42The clown mask almost does look like it'd be removable by the straps on the
02:45side, but the straps are actually molded in the same resin as the mask itself.
02:49I also happen to notice here that on the bottom of his mask,
02:52it's separate from the rest of his face. So it looks like the mask is here.
02:56And then for reasons unknown, the clown mask does have a separate mouth to it.
03:02Again, I'm not really sure why it had to be the case like this.
03:04You would think that this would all have been one piece,
03:06but it seems very much like the lower half of his mouth is separate from the
03:10rest of the mask. Other than that though, I think it looks really good.
03:14The clown costume of course does have the two-tone look of the red and then not
03:18even quite really white either. It's more of a pearl color.
03:21It does then make this being a different color,
03:23make the pom-poms on the front of his clown costume stand out a little bit
03:26more. Yeah, the feral color there along the tops, nice colors overall on this.
03:30I believe that all of the Royal Bobble's bobble heads are carefully hand
03:33painted and you can definitely see there's a lot of detail that go into these.
03:36Now the knife itself,
03:37despite slaying his sister doesn't actually have any blood on it at all.
03:41It's still clean.
03:42I would have liked if maybe they just had put a little bit of blood on that to
03:45indicate that Michael's been busy that night. Of course,
03:48he does have his arm bent here.
03:49Just a nice overall looking jack-o'-lantern sculpted along this a few little
03:53marks here that I thought initially,
03:54like when I took this first out of the packaging,
03:57let me also just say to taking this out of the packaging, be very careful.
04:00Everything was sort of really close to the styrofoam tray.
04:04Normally they have like a little bit of allowance along next to it so that
04:07there's enough space that it's easier to take out the bobble head.
04:10But this Michael Myers a little bit harder to actually remove.
04:12The jack-o'-lantern also seemed to stay behind.
04:15So when I was kind of moving it,
04:16it got caught right away and I kind of had to stop what I was doing and
04:18reassess the situation. But the jack-o'-lantern initially,
04:22I thought may have had a few actual paint problems.
04:24Then I realized though that those paint problems are also all around this as
04:27well. So it's not a clean looking pumpkin.
04:29There are a few little imperfections that they've added in there.
04:32I don't think it necessarily needed it. I mean,
04:33just a few of them would have been fine. Maybe had just left this one off,
04:37it would have been a cleaner looking pumpkin.
04:39Like we see at the opener of the movie. Of course,
04:41you've got green grass there on the front that Michael's standing on top of.
04:44Again, a nice looking overall bobble head. Carefully packed, of course.
04:48One thing I also had to remove in preparation of shooting record is there was a
04:52little bit of plastic obviously wrapped around Michael's neck.
04:54So I just carefully removed it. I'm illustrating this right now.
04:58Carefully removed it just to ensure that the bobble head would have freedom then
05:01to move.
05:02The bobbling action involves the spring on the inside of the neck actually at
05:06the top of the neck attached to the inside cavity of the head. And with that,
05:09the two work pretty well together to allow the bobbling action back and forth.
05:14Now this isn't a plastic bobble head.
05:16We've kind of assessed the idea that with royal bobbles,
05:18you get a more premium higher end bobble head. So with that,
05:22you have to be a little bit more careful when it comes to bobbling.
05:24There's nothing necessarily on Michael's head that would break,
05:26but I would imagine right away the knife would be careful to break this.
05:30Obviously when you're taking it out of the tray,
05:32you want to make sure the knife doesn't get snagged. Again, carefully wrapped.
05:35It's a well painted bobble head. The only thing again,
05:37I would say is I would have really liked to have seen what this could have looked
05:41like with a mask actually above his head rather than being covering over the
05:44front of his face.
05:45If there was like an earlier version of Michael Myers prior to him killing his
05:48sister, that'd be one thing. But the fact that he has this knife,
05:51the fact that he's standing outside waiting for his parents to come home,
05:54you would think that this would be the end when he's just before he's revealed
05:57as the killer.
05:58I just would have been interested to see what this could have looked like with a
06:01shocked young Michael's expression on his face instead, rather than the clown.
06:06The clown mask looks good, but again, like it's got this,
06:09it's got this line like right here where I'd have to go back and look at the
06:12movie again. I've already watched it this time during October,
06:15but maybe I don't know. I'd have to go back and see it again.
06:18Like is there supposed to be a separation like this?
06:20I don't think that there is.
06:21It's the only thing that's a little jarring on this other than the fact that we
06:24don't get the chance to see like Michael's surprise look on his face,
06:27which had been one thing I would have really liked to see with this bobble head
06:29instead of what we get here,
06:31despite not having the chance to really see what his face looks like underneath
06:34the mask. It's a nice release from the folks over at Royal Baubles.
06:37And of course,
06:38bringing back in the other Michael Myers that we've already had a look at.
06:41If you have been following me during this Hallows season,
06:43you of course have been checking out all the various bobble heads that we've
06:46been looking at for Michael Myers. This now,
06:48I guess technically counts for considering now that we are looking at the young
06:51Michael Myers, let's just bring it and put the other one over here.
06:54Let's move all the other ones back here too.
06:56One thing though that this Michael Myers is different from the other three is
06:59not only he's a younger version of Michael Myers,
07:01but also if you happen to have yourself a black light,
07:03you could also illuminate on the front of the pumpkin.
07:05You could also just really have the shining in front of a lamp light source.
07:09And when you cut the lights, the jack-o'-lantern would illuminate.
07:11But as the easiest fix for me to show you guys,
07:14if you have yourself just simply a black light, it works just as well.
07:17Nice looking bobble head from the folks over at Royal Baubles.
07:20This one is available right now.
07:21If you guys are interested and have been so far collecting the adult Michael
07:24Myers and want to see like the early beginnings of his evil,
07:27a nice little pickup to get an add to your collection.
07:30So I did go back and I rewatched the beginning again of Halloween when young
07:34Michael is exiting out the Myers home and he's being met by his parents for the
07:37few fleeting seconds. Honestly, it's so fast.
07:40It's one of those cases that if you don't pause it, you'll miss it.
07:42When his dad is first removing his mask and you pause it right there,
07:45you can barely make it out. But the clown mask isn't one piece.
07:49The bottom of the mouth looks like it's separate from the rest of the face.
07:53Now you don't have to do that either.
07:54You can actually even easily or go on Google,
07:57just Google search young Michael Myers clown mask.
08:00You get a better idea of what the mask actually looks like.
08:03So it is movie accurate. Royal baubles wasn't wrong at all.
08:06Now I didn't say in this review though,
08:07I would have liked rather if the mask was on top of his head and we actually got
08:11a full reveal of his face.
08:12If we were to really go back and look at the movie again,
08:15he never really has the clown mask on top of his head either.
08:18Now when we've gotten collectibles in the past of young Michael Myers,
08:21it's always one of those things that you can have the clown mask on top of his
08:24head. But honestly, if his dad's taking the mask off,
08:27he really shouldn't even have it on his face in the first place.
08:29It would have to be the case. He'd either have it on or you'd have to have it off.
08:32You can't have it both ways. At least this does give us an opportunity.
08:35Thanks to Royal baubles to kind of get a full detailed look of what the mask
08:38actually does look like.
08:40One added additional detail I really like about this is that they found the way
08:43to include the opener pumpkin as a side accent piece that's on the corner of the
08:47display base. Still,
08:49I would like to see what an unmasked young Michael would look like as a
08:52bobblehead. But in the meantime though,
08:54I'm really happy with how this one came out from Royal baubles.
08:57Good news though is this one is available right now online.
08:59So it's not really that hard of a bobblehead to try to track one down.
09:02A big thank you once again to the folks over at Royal baubles that did provide
09:05this sample. We could have a look at what do you think of young Michael Myers?
09:08Let me know down below in the comments section.
09:10Do you also like this young Michael Myers from 1978 film over the Rob Zombie
09:14young Michael Myers? Which one do you like more? Let me know down below.
09:18In the meantime though, if you guys did enjoy this video,
09:20do it a solid throw it a like you guys want to stick around for more.
09:23So I hope so.
09:26I know we kind of are wrapping up things for the remainder of Spocktober.
09:29There's only a few treats left to go,
09:31but I do hope that you're keeping your ghoulish peepers peeled to this channel
09:34and that you will be coming back for what we have for the remainder. As always,
09:38thanks for watching. See you guys next time.
