00:00Newcastle United 1, Arsenal 0 here at St James' Park and what a performance from Eddie Howe's team.
00:091 from 11, absolutely outstanding. Everything in that game, in that performance that you associate with this Eddie Howe team, the spirit, determination and a little bit of quality as well.
00:24I say a little bit of quality, of course that little bit of quality today was Alexander Isak's goal.
00:30Unbelievable cross from Anthony Gordon, an even better header and that was the recipe to the win today.
00:38All of those things, just brilliant. A really good performance on a week when Newcastle United were, I went into it being questioned a little bit after that Chelsea defeat.
00:51But of course they've answered those questions in the next round of the Carabao Cup and are in the top half of the Premier League against one of the league's best teams.
01:02So, outstanding. As I say, 1 from 11, brilliant but I'm going to give a special mention to some of the performers out there who I thought were outstanding.
01:14Lewis Hall being the main one, what a journey he's been on 12 months ago. He wasn't even in Newcastle United's team for this fixture 12 months ago.
01:22He was an unused substitute and 12 months on he is developing as one of the country's most exciting left-backs.
01:33He's best to stay in the black and white shirt given that he had to come out against Pacquiao and Saka but kept him quiet.
01:41And as I say, is there a better left-back in the Premier League at this moment in time in terms of current form?
01:47I don't think there is. He's played three games now this week against top-level opposition and been a standout in all of those three.
01:54So, England international duty coming up. Maybe it isn't outrageous to suggest that he might be on Leigh Carsley's list.
02:02In the midfield, Sean Longstaff, outstanding, has his critics but he was a close man on Paul Willoughby.
02:10He does all the dirty work. A really excellent midfield display up and down. He epitomises everything about Newcastle United.
